thank you for inviting me i'm it's very i'm very pleased to be here and uh i'm going to tell you about the work that i'm doing now which is really thinking about drug discovery from a very different lens in light of what i think is an ongoing revolution that i like to call digital biology so let me start by talking a little bit about drug discovery which is i think a classic tale of the glass half full and the glass half empty the half full glass is what you see on this slide exemplified as a set of different therapeutic interventions across many different diseases that have taken patients that would have been that would have had a death sentence or a life of pain and really turn and in some cases even cured them or at least relegated their disease to one of a relatively straightforward chronic management and you can talk about you know of course vaccines are very much on everyone's minds now and rightly so because i think what we've seen with some of the modern day vaccines is the som
