REBECCA BLUME: This evening is about building a connected community with one another. So I want to start by acknowledging the spaces that we're all sharing. I want to acknowledge the Coast Salish people, including the Duwamish tribe, who are still unrecognized by the federal government. It is upon their land which we study and work here at the University of Washington. I encourage you to learn more about the first peoples on the land that you are on.
