hi everybody wanted to do a quick video on 1099s I'm getting a lot of questions this time of year on what businesses need to issue 1099s and who they need to issue 1099s to so basically any business that's a trade or business meaning rental businesses anybody in the construction business any other type of business has to issue 1099s to any individual or business that they've issued payments in excess of $600 or any proceeds that they've paid to an attorney so that's really going to cover any rents any non employee payments that you've made for example I hire a contractor to work on my rental property and that contractor was paid throughout the year and I might have hired him for five different jobs that were five hundred dollars each but that's a total cumulative amount that I paid him of twenty five hundred dollars I would have a 1099 requirement to issue to that contractor so wanted to do a quick video walk everybody through some of the requirements and go from there so I'm going to
