in this video i'm going to discuss two skills that every dietetic intern should work on to stand out from their peers and expedite their journey to becoming a seasoned clinician [Music] the first skill that every dietetic intern should work on is connecting nutrients to specific foods in other words they should spend time memorizing which foods contain which nutrients something i've learned as a preceptor over the past five years is that many interns would have an easier time explaining the pathophysiology of ketoacidosis than they would providing me with a list of five foods that are high in phosphorus this of course is more a reflection of their path through school than it is their competency as nutrition students we start in introductory classes learning the basics of food and nutrients but then as we progress we dig deeper and deeper into the topics until eventually some of the basics start to become foreign to us while the dietetic internship is where the information begins to com
