so I'd like to take this opportunity to discuss activities of daily living specifically ADL's for CNAs and demonstrate to you how the accuracy of ADL coding builds a foundation for appropriate care quality and reimbursement so ADL coding is a two step process first we're looking at the self performance of the resident and then we're adding the support that was provided by our staff what the resident did for themself is self performance and you'll notice across the top of each of these if you're still on paper you're going to code the appropriate letter that corresponds with this coding but what you're seeing is the PCC screen that you will see on the kiosk as you are coding your ADL's for each of the ADL's that you code for so it's the same code the same key for all of them independent means no help or staff oversight was provided at any time for the task the next level would be supervision where you provide oversight encouragement and cueing but you're not touching the patient or doi
