hi my name is larry chong i'm with west coast video productions and we're going to show you how to back focus a lens uh we're going to take the camera and place it on a tripod so it's something sturdy and anytime you change lenses with the camera you want to do a back focus so the first thing uh get my back focus chart out and if you don't have one of these charts you can go over to our website at dot wvpinc.com and you can download one and print it out so you can have one so i'm gonna go over to the viewfinder and i'm gonna adjust the diopter on it so my image is as sharp as possible next i'm gonna make sure my lens is not on automatic and it's on manual i'm gonna make sure my iris is open all the way you want that that's very important because you want a very shallow depth of field when you do back focus when you open up the lens all the way if your exposure is too hot uh one thing that i'll do is i'll roll some nd in so i'll change my filter wheel to maybe a one to a two or three tw
