in this video i'll describe what an alcoholics anonymous meeting is like so you have an idea of what you'll be getting into if you're planning on going to your first aaa meeting if i was ever doing something new in my life i always liked to know exactly what to expect it made it a bit easier going your first meeting is pretty stressful especially if you don't know anyone there's a lot of misrepresentations a lot of preconceived beliefs of what aaa is and you probably have some of your own i hope i can ease some of the stress that comes along with going to your first meeting a lot of people are under the impression that they get put under a spotlight at the front of the room and have to tell their entire life's story at the first meeting they attend i'm kate um i'm an alcoholic this is how hollywood usually portrays a.a and it's not that accurate you're not forced to do anything as a newcomer in aaa in fact you're never forced to do anything at all in a.a the only requirement to attend
