hi my name is peter andriska and i'm the head of research at level five in this talk i would like to tell you about machine learning planning and simulation my team is working on so what i will cover is my views on the limitations of the current self-driving technology that is adopted across the industry and then i would like to tell you about the autonomy 2.0 which is a machine learning first approach to solving self-driving and that is composed of three key pieces machine learning planning machine learning simulation and large-scale data collection and what i would like to convince you about is that this this is very promising approach we should be all going towards too before we dive in let me tell you a little bit more about level five so we are uh we are part of lyft and now we are becoming a part of toyota woven pilot we have more than 300 people uh across california and london we are operating our in-house fleet of autonomous vehicles and we are working towards development of l4
