[Music] RIT seeks applicants from across the social, cultural, economic and ethnic spectrum, and, as part of that, we strive to make the admissions process at RIT as much about you as possbile. Keep in mind that because we offer many specialized majors competitiveness and consideration vary by major. When applying to RIT, you can apply directly to a major to begin experiencing it right away, apply to an exploration option to learn more about what major is right for you, or, if you have a unique combination of interests but can't find a major, consider our renowned flexible individualized study program. When making admissions decisions, we consider your high school record, recommendations, activities, interests and awards, and an essay. And for BFA programs in the schools of art, design, and film and animation, a portfolio of original artwork is required as part of the application. RIT is test optional.
