in hero schedule overtime is an umbrella term meaning extra time your employee is at work this includes both when an employee stays late at the end of their shift and submits an overtime request and when a supervisor publishes extra shifts available to work using open shifts let's take a look at how both work so let's say I'm an officer in this case Ryan Hansen who had to stay late due to making an arrest which led to processing a trip to the jail and reports I would log into hero schedule click on today's shift click add overtime and enter the request you can also do this for previous shifts this request is then sent to a supervisor who will receive an email alert and can log in to approve or deny the request approving a request is done in the approve requests tab or from the main schedule view when you see a yellow box so now I'm logged in as a supervisor can see the yellow box here displayed under Ryan Hansen we would click on that day cell click approve we can confirm with a note i
