we needed to find a way to reduce uh the time it took to access medicines on the wards uh it was found that finding Keys was a major problem uh as well as losing them and additional copies of keys um in addition to that the beacon Center needed to provide evidence to the Care Quality commission uh around how they use and store medicines within their Department uh as Beacon uh A&E and and all use quite similar drugs it was decided that they could all share um one system the pharmacy Department replenish the cupboards daily um and they log into the computer with their username and password um and book out the drugs that they require um the draws open just for one drug at a time um so that we can be sure of exactly who accessed the cupboard at what time and what they took uh and ultimately who should pay for those medicines as well as they all share these cabinets could go on every Ward um they scale up quite easily uh we're also planning to introduce Biometrics um which is fingerprint lo
