which is a great segue in introducing today's seminar speakers uh Diana Magnuson is a full-time curator and historian here at isrdi her research and scholarly output focuses on the history of the U.S census of population with an emphasis on enumeration issues and procedural histories she has been connected to the MPC as a Consulting census historian and visiting scholar in the past our second Seeker needs no introduction to this audience but Dr Steven Ruggles is Regents professor of history and population studies he is the director of both the institute for social research and data Innovation and it bums and most recently a MacArthur fellow his work has been continually continuously funded by the NIH since 1989 and NSF since 1991. under his leadership items has become the world's largest and most widely used population database and today Steve is going to talk to us about it's none of their damn business privacy and disclosure control in the U.S census 1790-2022. thank you so um okay u
