thanks everyone for tuning in for today's uh presentation and conversation uh i'm gonna try to keep the presentation part uh brief but i think it is important to uh set the table a little bit and build a little bit of context before we get into some of the conversation so today we're going to talk about due diligence and specifically due diligence on external managers so for those of you who are in the investment industry or are a student you know studying to become uh a professional in the investment industry there's a lot of talk about um in systematic versus idiosyncratic risks so we talk about building a portfolio of individual securities and trying to to build an efficient portfolio where whereas you know you take on more risk you should have more return associated with that risk but there's another dimension especially for allocators of capital who are allocating to external managers and that's more of the operational or investment strategy risk which is where the importance of d
