It depends on how long it has been since you graduated high school.  Schools generally keep those on record in FL for about four years, and most schools will give you a copy for free.  After that they usually are kept at the district courthouse as public record.  Records are about a dollar per page where I live.  I have never had to prove my graduation from high school except when I entered the Army and college.

Departments of education and school districts always have to make decisions about what to include in their curriculum.  There are a lot of life skills that people need that aren't taught in school.  The question is should those skills be taught in schools?I teach high school, so I'll talk about that.  The typical high school curriculum is supposed to give students a broad-based education that prepares them to be citizens in a democracy and to be able to think critically.  For a democracy to work, we need educated, discerning citizens with the ability to make good decisions based on evidence and objective thought.  In theory, people who are well informed about history, culture, science, mathematics, etc., and are capable of critical, unbiased thinking, will have the tools to participate in a democracy and make good decisions for themselves and for society at large.  In addition to that, they should be learning how to be learners, how to do effective, basic research, and collaborate with other people.  If that happens, figuring out how to do procedural tasks in real life should not provide much of a challenge.  We can't possibly teach every necessary life skill people need, but we can help students become better at knowing how to acquire the skills they need.  Should we teach them how to change a tire when they can easily consult a book or search the internet to find step by step instructions for that?  Should we teach them how to balance a check book or teach them how to think mathematically and make sense of problems so that the simple task of balancing a check book (which requires simple arithmetic and the ability to enter numbers and words in columns and rows in obvious ways) is easy for them to figure out.  If we teach them to be good at critical thinking and have some problem solving skills they will be able to apply those overarching skills to all sorts of every day tasks that shouldn't be difficult for someone with decent cognitive ability  to figure out.  It's analogous to asking why a culinary school didn't teach its students the steps and ingredients to a specific recipe.  The school taught them about more general food preparation and food science skills so that they can figure out how to make a lot of specific recipes without much trouble.  They're also able to create their own recipes.So, do we want citizens with very specific skill sets that they need to get through day to day life or do we want citizens with critical thinking, problem solving, and other overarching cognitive skills that will allow them to easily acquire ANY simple, procedural skill they may come to need at any point in their lives?

Contact the HS or the School District where you graduated from, Often you can buy a replacement copy.The Diploma itself is meaningless, it a symbolic documentary. Your Official Transcript is what really show you graduated from HS.

Depends on how much work you lack in otder to qualify. How many grades did your complete, and how close were you to graduation? Youi might check with a nearby school to ask what you need to do. You might be able to take the GED exam and get an equivalency certificate. And you could take a couple of night courses at a local community college and earn some credit hours. Once those are on your record, your lack of a diploma would not even be noticed.

Call your school.  They will have a process.  There will be fees.  You will have to provide ID, date of graduation, and perhaps a signNowd statement that your previous diploma was lost.  They will charge you and give you a new one.  It will be signed by whoever signs them now.All of my diplomas were damaged with the exception of my high school diploma.  I got a new Medical School diploma and a new MIT degree.  The funny thing is that when MIT looked up my degree, they no longer issue the degree in the major I was in.  I went from a life sciences major to a chemistrymajor....I did have a lot of chemistry perhaps 8-10 chemistry courses and was one course 1 course and a thesis from a chemistry masters.

I dropped out of school after the 8th grade. I went to work which for me was infinitely better than navigating the social minefield of school. When I turned 18, I took the test for what is known as the General Equivalency Diploma or GED, then went on to college.I don’t know what your goals are. Some branches of the military or careers will not accept a GED. If you choose to take it, there are classes everywhere that will help you prepare, most of them for free. Or if you are a good reader, just register and take it. I didn’t find it difficult. There was a fee to register.Probably a lot has changed since I took the test. You might consider looking in the yellow pages, calling your local high school or college admissions office, or Technical School to ask about the when and wheres. You may at first have to speak to a couple of unhelpful people, but you should soon find someone to help you learn your options.However you obtain your high school diploma, do it! It will help your job prospects, increase your opportunities for higher education, and just plain make you feel better about yourself.
