I just slowly made changes to become healthy. My first day starting i simply decided i would lift at the gym 7x a week for the next year. I decided taking up cardio or watching weight would be after establishing a routine. Between 1-2 months of continually going it became something i enjoyed and it no longer became a chore. Especially because early on you get the fastest results. After a year i started to work on my diet. By that i just simply made better food choices and learned how calories worked. I tracked my calories and tried to get 1600-2000 calories but mostly i tried to eat well and slowly transition to it. I slowly stopped taking advantage of the gluttonous food, i just started skipping random times and really reminded myself that food like that just gets in the way of my goals, so that makes it easier to avoid it. My progress from January to May from 260 to 207. You can see at 260 muscularly my body looks alot better than at 285. I'm technically only down 25lbs but i've gained alot of muscle mass. My moobs were a bit less mooby, there is a sense of body structure and more defined lines. So lifting alone certainly has many benefits within weight loss. Side note: this was the first time in my life i thought i looked like i might be acceptable to run shirtless. I had to do a few shirtless mow-the-lawns to test my confidence first though. But by integrating cardio and healthier food choices I'm now able to still occasionally have bad food choices because they're more seldom and the excess calories i do take on are balanced out to this more active lifestyle i've developed. Eat lean proteins: chicken/ fish / 99% lean ground turkey / eggs and eat vegetables and fruits those items you can eat almost endless amounts of.
