How do I get a study visa to study in Canada?
Mr. George Goldman, Jan 15 2017, has very aptly explained the outline procedure. It is evident that Mr. George Goldman is an expert. You may do well to follow to these knowledgeable comments. With his permission, I wish to add just a tiny bit more.SDS (Student Direct Stream) Rules. Effective June 2018, in four countries i.e. India, Philippines, China, and Vietnam Canadian Govt has replaced erstwhile SPP Rules for grant of Study Permit with new SDS Rules to deal expeditiously (45 days as compared to about 60 days earlier) First, you ought to understand that there is no special application format for an application for Study permit under currently valid SDS or the General Category applicants. You put in your application online through IRCC website or paper submission at VFS offices for Canada, and, if your application meets the criteria for SDS stream the Visa granting authority deals with your application under SDS Rules. Else, your application is automatically processed under General Category. To this extent, whether your application is to be considered under either the new SDS Rules or as General Category will be decided on criteria match by the Visa granting authority.Basic Requirements SDS. For An Applicant to be considered under SDS, he must meet following criteria:Valid Academic qualification. As far as feasible, the Course that you apply for higher studies in Canada should be a logical extension of your academic qualification.Medical at least 7 days prior to lodging of application online or in paper form. Obviously so that the medical is available when your application is reviewed.Proof of Financial Support. Upfront one year (2 semesters) tuition fee paid to the education provider for admission in a full-time program in a publicly-funded College or University. Let’s assume your course of proposed study is only one year. You have still to deposit One Year tuition fee (2 semesters) fee upfront. Similarly, if your course of proposed study is two years or for that matter three years, you have still to deposit One Year tuition fee (2 semesters) upfront. You have to attach proof of this upfront one year fee payments.Proof of Acceptance. A valid Unconditional letter of acceptance from the chosen publicly-funded College or University. for admission in a full-time program. This is sometimes referred as Letter of Offer.Proof of Financial Support. A Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of 10000 CAD (Canadian Dollars) To the best of my knowledge, there are two banks that issue GIC - Scotia Bank & ICICI Canada. Advantage is after obtaining GIC, you DO NOT HAVE TO ATTACH ANY OTHER FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS as proof of financial worthiness.Letter of Explanation. A Statement of Purpose. This is a personalised write up without any laid down format. I consider this to be vital. Be truthful. The thrust should be three fold. First, a small introduction of your family & academic background. Here you will endeavour to prove that you have reasons to fall back to your home country after your studies in Canada. These could be need to manage properties, look after aged members, ethical reasons to do good for your roots, ample opportunities available in your home country after international standard studies & experience in Canada coupled with your base qualifications. Second, highlight the fact that your proposed study program is a logical extension of your basic qualifications & your desire to specialise in a chosen field based on your cherished desire, inclination and the trend in your home country. Third, a short conclusion stating that you have met all the criteria laid down for for Student Direct Entry (SDS) & as susuch a request that you may kindly be considered in this stream.A valid Passport. Remember, the expiry date of your granted Study Visa will be determined your date of culmination of proposed study program or the expiry date of your Passport, whichever is earlier. At the cost of trying your patience, here is an example. Assume that your proposed study program ends 30 June 2021, but your passport expires o 01 January 2021. In this case in point, you will be granted Study Permit only expiring on 01 January 2021. In this case, as a first step while pursuing your studies in Canada, on line or through authorised private agency, you will have to apply to your Embassy / High Commission in Canada for issuance of a new passport (Along with your new Passport, you will be permitted to retain your old Passport also, as it contains vital Study Permit & travel details) Indian Passport Laws permit a bonafide student to apply for a new Passport anywhere within 3 years of its given expiry date. Issuance of New Passport may take up to 30 days. In the given example, second step for you will be to apply on line or through authorised private agency to the Canadian Immi in Canada extension of your Study Permit up to the date of culmination of your proposed study program. This may take about 5 - 6 weeks. Both these steps are permissible. But, all this tension and effort can be avoided simply by ensuring, if possible, that your Passport expiry date is well beyond the end date of your proposed study program.Check provincial guidelines. These would vary in certain cases e.g. for Quebec.Other Documents As Listed by Canadian Immi. Required to be attached with an application for Study Permit. For example, but not limited to, additional Proof of Identity, Photographs, additional Proof of Birth, if required, scholarship if applicable, any other relevant correspondence with education provider etc.

What is the step-by-step procedure to apply for Canada PR?
After having lived through the horror of my own immigration process, and seeing countless other people making the same mistake, I thought its better to lay out the most effective, easy to understand and follow, approach to Canadian immigration. Some basic info on Canadian ImmigrationFor all immigration purposes, the Canadian Govt. has developed a really good website that you’ll need at every step of the application here on - Immigrate to Canada. Thanks to this website, you don’t need an attorney or consultant.Canada offers multiple channels for immigration, that you can make use of:Express Entry: Most popular and fastest immigration route, run by the Federal govt.. Meant for skilled people. Manages three economic immigration programs:Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW) - Skilled workers with foreign experience. All professionals in sales, marketing, IT, finance, legal, medicine, etc. fall under this category.Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST) - People qualified in a skilled trade with foreign experience. Chefs, bakers, equipment operators, etc. fall under this category.Canadian Experience Class (CEC) - Skilled workers who have Canadian work experience.Provincial Nominee: Second most popular channel. Meant for people who do not have sufficient score to clear Express Entry. Run by each individual province. Program opens on ad-hoc basis. If you get nominated, then you must spend 2 years in the province, before you can move to any other province.Family Sponsorship: Existing permanent residents can sponsor their relatives, including their spouse, partner, children, parents, grandparents, and others to immigrateQuebec-selected skilled worker: Immigration program run separately by the province of Quebec. Meant for people who want to live in Quebec specifically.Start-up Visa: Have a start-up idea and can bring in local jobs? Canada will give you a PR, if your idea is accepted by a designated organization and implemented.Self-Employed: Can contribute culturally or in athletics to Canada.Atlantic Immigration Pilot: Immigrate by graduating from a school or working in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, or Newfoundland and Labrador. This program is meant to boost the economies of Atlantic provinces that usually don’t see much immigration influx.RefugeesMajority of the applicants apply via Express Entry, Provincial Nomination or Family Sponsorship. For this answer, I’ll focus exclusively on Federal Skilled Worker Program.Canadian immigration is entirely points based. Every applicant is awarded fixed points for their education, age, language abilities, marital status, spouse’s qualifications, etc. The system that awards these points is called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).Every month, the Canadian Immigration Agency - IRCC, announces a cut-off score. All applicants with CRS score above this cut-off receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence. The ones that don’t qualify remain in the pool.STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR CANADIAN PRSTEP 1: Check your eligibility (Cost: Free, Time: 10 mins)Use this quick online tool from the Canadian Govt. to check if you are eligible to apply. Do you want to come to Canada, or extend your stay? Scoring Criteria >> Eligibility to apply as a Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry).STEP 2: Gauge your chances early (Cost: Free, Time: 15 mins - 2 hours)If you are eligible to apply, then I strongly recommend you to check your CRS score with your info and hypothetical scores for IELTS >> Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool: skilled immigrants (Express Entry). At this stage, there are some important factors that will adversely affect your application:IELTS score: You need to score at least 8–7–7–7 (Listening, reading, writing, speaking respectively), to sufficient points to compete in the pool. Anything less than this, will cost you tonnes of points.Education: If you have a Bachelor/Masters, do some background research to check if World Education Services (WES), the authority that will assess your educational qualifications, will consider your university degree equivalent to a Canadian Bachelors/Masters. Reason why I say this is because if you have a Masters from a tier 3 college, and if WES does not find it equivalent to a Canadian degree, then you will end up being recognized as an applicant with only a Bachelors degree, losing crucial points in the process. Doing this check at this stage will save you a lot of money and trouble.Age: Every year beyond the age of 30, applicants will lose 5 points. So if you are planning to apply at a later date, then be sure to keep this mind.Work Experience: While claiming for work experience, note that Canada assumes that you have always worked in the same job classification, as denoted by your NOC code. If you were a Marketer for 3 years, and an Interior Designer for 2 years, then you cannot claim a combined work experience of 5 years. Choose whichever experience you want to claim, and stick with that corresponding NOC throughout your application.Spouse: It is not mandatory to have your spouse take the IELTS and verify their educational credentials. But if your CRS calculator shows you with points in the range of 400–430, then consider entering hypothetical IELTS scores for your spouse, and also entering their educational credentials.Try multiple permutations and combinations of the above factors in the CRS tool before you even begin your PR journey. Now, go through the CRS draws announced in the past few months with this link >> Express Entry rounds of invitations. This will help you get an idea about where you currently stand. For e.g., for this entire year, the draws have always been around 440–445. So look for a hypothetical CRS configuration that will help you score more than this cut-off.Everyone with a CRS score of 400+ should proceed to the next step. Others who aren’t scoring as much, should do a little bit more research and consider alternative immigration methods.Protip: I suggest taking a free mock IELTS test to actually check how much you score. Your entire application may rest on the laurels of your language abilities, so I would give particular attention to this.Another ProTip: If your spouse is younger than you, or has higher educational credentials, then please let them be the primary applicant instead.STEP 3: Educational Credentials Assessment (Cost: INR 20,000 per person, Time: 30–45 days)Dipak has an excellent step-by-step process on how to do this >> Dipak Maheshwari's answer to What is the process to get Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for Canada PR from WES? This assessment will take you approximately one month, so get started at the earliest. Some things to keep in mind:I chose the express shipment via UPS at CAD 85 to receive the document. People who have chosen the cheapest delivery option have had mixed results. So take your chances.I also chose to have my university send the transcripts and degree certificates directly to WES, with the reference number mentioned. Works flawlessly, saves time.STEP 4: Take the “IELTS General Training” test (Cost: INR 11,500 pp, Time: depends on test date availability)While you initiate the WES ECA process, also start looking for available IELTS test dates in your city. Considering the heavy demand for IELTS for both immigration and education, test dates are at least 20 days away in many cities around the world. Having said that, I strongly suggest that you take a test date that’s at least 30 days away to give you ample time to prepare for the test.ProTip: Some tips to score well on your IELTS examSTEP 5: Start saving money in your bank account as Proof of FundsAs part of the PR process, Canadian immigration rules require you to have sufficient funds to manage your living expenses when you first arrive. Through the PR process, applicants need to prove that they have the necessary funds in their bank account. For more details on the amount, type of funds, etc >> Proof of funds - Skilled immigrants (Express Entry)In case you don’t have the sufficient funds, consider saving the required funds in your bank account at the same time you decide to apply for PR. Its best to show a gradual accumulation of funds in your account, rather than sudden, bulk transfers.ProTip: If you have a salary account, maintain the account balance with every monthly salary credit. Use your spouse’s income for other expenses.STEP 6: Create your Express Entry profile (Cost: Free, Time: 1 hour)After you have received your ECA and IELTS reports, go ahead and create an express entry profile. IRCC has a fantastic and easy to understand guide on creating your Express Entry profile. Submit an Express Entry profile: Online form. Submit your application. You’ll receive a confirmation via email, and within the application inbox inside the CIC portal. You’ll also receive the CRS score that the system has given you, and will be placed in the Express Entry pool. From here on, keep a close eye on the draws announced by IRCC. If your CRS score clears the cut-off, then you will receive an Invitation to Apply within 24–48 hours, via email. In case the cut-off appears to be far beyond your signNow, and if you feel there is nothing more you can do to add more points to your profile, then consider applying for Provincial Nomination Programs instead. Am not an expert in PNP process, but you can seek help through a legion of fellow applicants over at CanadaVisa forums >> Provincial Nomination Program ImmigrationSTEP 7: Post-ITA Documentation (Cost: INR 10,000 pp, Time: 60 days)Congratulations on receiving your ITA! You have now successfully completed the major hurdle of your immigration journey. All that is left now is to provide the documentation expected of you within the time limit, and if everything is in order, you’ll receive your PR confirmation. The documents you will need to prepare at this stage are:Medical Exam at a IRCC authorized center. (INR 8500 per person in metros)Police Clearance Certificate from Passport Seva Kendra (INR 500 per person) >> (How to get a PCC)If you have lived in a foreign country for more than 5 months cumulatively, then you will have to procure a police clearance from those authorities. This can take a while, so get started on this first. (Note: IRCC says 6 months, but I have seen people with 5 months of stay also being asked for PCC)Reference letter from employer. (More Details)Bank Statement & Digital PhotosSTEP 8: Application Submission and PPR (Cost: INR 50,000 pp, Time: None)After having prepared the documents, you need to submit these in the system and make the final payments.INR 26,250 - Application Processing fee: CAD 550 per personINR 23,400 - Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF): CAD 490 per person ~ (Note: this can also be paid when you are landing in Canada)INR 7160 - Dependent Child: CAD 150 per childIf you have successfully paid your fees and submitted the application, you’ll receive an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AoR) via email and within the application inbox. From here on, all you need to do is wait for an email from IRCC requesting your passport. Among the immigration community, this is called PPR - passport request. At this stage, you can be 99% sure that your PR has been confirmed. Once you receive this email, you visit the nearest VFS Global center, submit your passport and photos, and await for the final visa stamping.ProTip: Paying your RPRF will reduce the processing time by 4–7 days.STEP 9: Pre-arrival and landingAlthough you have received the PR confirmation in Step 8, the process is not yet officially concluded. One year from the date of your medicals, your immigration visa will expire. Within this time, you and your dependents must enter Canada by Flight or car at the border crossing, and complete the formalities. >> Sandeep's answer to What are the first steps after signNowing Canada?ProTip: Signup with settlement agencies like SOPA or PlanningForCanada that will help you with orientation and other useful information. Also plan to land 3 months after receiving your PR.This concludes the step-by-step process for obtaining a Canadian PR. All the best, folks!P.S. What are the chances to get a visa in Canada if I get an acceptance letter from an institution to study English for six months?
Six months is rather a short study. First of all, you don’t need a study permit for studies less than 6 month. So, if you are from a visa-free country, you can just come to Canada without any visas - see here I want to study in Canada for less than six months. Do I need a study permit? (but don’t forget about the eTA).Second, if you need a visa to enter Canada. Again, you can apply only for a visitor visa only - you can fill out the visa application how it is described here Visit Canada - Canada.ca If you need explanations on how to fill out the forms you’ll find it at CanadaSimple Visit CanadaNote, that if you are applying for language classes, chances that you’ll get a visa are low. Canada is very reluctant to issue visas to study language. Generally, the most critical things for getting a visa are ties to your home country (family, property,..) and enough money to live and pay tuition. There is no exact amount, but to give a reference - it’s your tuition fees for the whole course of study + 2000$ a month for living (approx).Hope this helps.

How much would it cost for a Pakistani citizen residing in KSA to apply for a Canadian student visa?
The study permit itself costs only $150 CDN. But that is not the only expense. You will need photographs, copies of transcripts from your previous schools and other little things as well. Each will have a cost.In addition to the Canadian government forms (below), your college will require proof of English or French ability. That is usually the IELTS exam. You would take the test in Pakistan at your own expense. I think most students get coaching for that as well. Here is the document checklist from Immigration CanadaThis application package is for applicants in Pakistan:Document checklist [IMM 5483] (PDF, 297.34 KB) May 2014Visa office instructions – Study [IMM 5814] (PDF, 308.85 KB) May 2016Application for a Study Permit Made Outside of Canada [IMM 1294] (PDF, 427.00 KB) April 2015Family Information [IMM 5645] (PDF, 67.10 KB) September 2010(probably not applicable for you) Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union [IMM 5409] (PDF, 636.51 KB) April 2015(probably not applicable for you) Custodian Declaration [IMM 5646] (PDF, 1.02 MB) January 2015Visa application photograph specifications(required if you use a Visa Consultant; optional otherwise) Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 648.31 KB) June 2015Everyone must fill out and sign their own form, including those travelling as a family. What is the Canadian student visa processing time?
Totally depends on from which country you are applying for Canadian Study Permit. Each country has different processing time. And also it depends on how many students are applying for Study Permit for that particular Semester.Often, delay is experienced by students who apply for September or Januaury intake. For them it is advisable to apply as soon as possible. For May intake it usually takes lesser time compared to September and January intake as per my knowledge. If an applicant is applying for study permit from India, it usually takes 6 weeks. It varies depending on which intake you are applying for.If an applicant is applying for study permit from United Arab Emirates, it takes about 2 months to get an answer from Canadian Embassy.Sharing my friends experiences :-One of my friend, he applied for September 2016 intake from United Arab Emirates and it took almost 2Months 10days or so to get an answer from Canadian Embassy. (Approved)One of my another friend had applied for May 2016 intake also from United Arab Emirates and it took 2 weeks to get an answer from Canadian Embassy. (Refused)Students who has applied or are planning to apply from VFS global centre, can track application status online on this website. Why in Canada requires Canadian experience if you just landed as new immigrant?
Business don’t care about Immigrants. As a owner, you are only an assets to me.if I don’t need you, you mean nothing to me. Most Immigrant don’t get this.People who migrate to Canada don’t realize this, we business owner, do not either need you or care about you. We need talent be it an immigrant or home grownWhen Business brings immigrant - Canadian experience don’t matterIf I as a business owner, needs let’s say Welder operator, and I cannot find someone, I will interview local first. if I do not get one, then I will look outside other countries. I will do some skype interview, if satisfied, I will submit paper work to government for temporary work permit. Thus, you come to Canada with a job no Canadian experience required. When Government Bring Immigrants - Canadian experience does matterExample 1 - AccountantNow you migrated to Canada. You are a highly qualified charter account (CA) in India (please do not take it personally as I am not ditching India. just using it as an exampleAs a CA in India, how much do you know about Canadian tax system. Have you worked with CRA to face audit? Have you dealt with different forms used by CRA? Do you know the tax code between NAFTA countries?Do you have any Canadian credential for such regulated industry? You see - you do not fit the Canadian experience. How do you expect Canadian business to take risk hiring you when may not have experience working as CA. Also, don’t forget for every immigrant we do have local also looking for the same job.Example 2 - DoctorLet’s assume you are a doctor in Bangladesh. why would you want to move to Canada first place? You are already making money.Do you know that there are many doctors in Bangladesh who will issue back dated death certificate for few cash?Do you know that I can get doctor to give me prescription without proper checkup for cash?Do you know some doctor even mis-use their position with their female counter part though that happens in Canada to certain degree as well?Do you have any practical knowledge of Canadian Health Ethics?Do you know how medicine are tightly controlled here?Because Canadian doctor works for Canadian government. They must follow health Canada rules and regulation. Where Doctors in Bangladesh works either for them self and/or the hospital. Now you come to Canada, you do not want to go back to study Canadian medical practice but just want a job just because you are a doctor. Two countries have two different systemHow do you expect Canadian business to take risk hiring you?Often people do not realize that Canadian businesses are not asking for immigrants. We are asking for talents. It does not matter if that talent is from Zambia or the moon, but they must meet our requirement. We do not care about Governments requirement when it comes to required skills.Immigrants meet government requirement to be considered allowed in the country. It does not mean business has to recognized it.Updated July 5th 2018News from Developing nation that cause trust issue.Dead patient kept on ventilator for 6 days, doctors booked - Times of IndiaFamily Forcibly Removes Boy From Ventilator Claiming He’s Dead, Vandalises HospitalHospital keeps dead body because family can't pay billRelatives vandalise United Hospital alleging it kept patient at ICU after his death for hefty billAbove are some reasons why Doctors from such part of the world needs to re-educated and re certified before getting a job.NOTE: This is not to say all Doctors in India, Bangladesh or Pakistan are bad. But news like this creates a trust issueNews from Canadian DoctorsWhere doctors have rejected a pay riseHundreds of Canadian doctors demand lower salaries. (Yes, lower.)You see - doctors around the world including Canadian doctor would love to get more pay but collective group are asking for lower pay as they believe they get too much salary. To build such mind set, you need Canadian experience which is based on Canadian value.Example 3 - Manager/Business Admin etcPeople in such position back home are always in authoritative position. You will have someone to bring tea for you. Clean your shoe for you. Or bring your mail mentality.Manager take bribe to get paper work push up in the line, not that I am saying every manager, but this happens lot more in Asian/African countries than it does in Canada/USAI had to pay $4000 bribe to an officer in Bangladesh to get my wife’s passport corrected. When she went to renew her passport, she need to correct few things. She went there by herself as I was in Canada at the time. She was asked to meet the guy after hours at a mall after reviewing her passport. Now she had many stamps of Dubai because she travelled with me many times. You can figure out for what… when she refused, he blacklisted her passport due to his authority. It costed me $4000 (regular passport probably $50) to get her a new passport. Now that same officer is equally qualified to immigrant to Canada as he had the education and work experience to eligible to migrate to Canada. (hope he does not)How do you expect us to hire someone like that who comes from such countries knowing this happens? I am from Bangladesh (born and stayed until age 12). This happened in 2012.How do we even know where that candidate is from or what work environment he/she has come from.Example 4: Teacher/University professorsDid you know that in Bangladesh (not sure about India or Pakistan) that romantic relationship between student and teacher/professor are very common? I have seen many students end up marrying their professors. How sexual favor can lead to greater mark. This is illegal in Canada but happens in Bangladesh. I also happens here in Canada on a rare occasion but very common practice in some places in Bangladesh. As a University, how can you expect me to hire someone who does not know about ethical rules in Canada or give assurance that they will not do such thing here.Legal IssueWhy many Canadian business don’t like to hire fresh immigrants off the boat. Look we get that you are highly qualified in your country. We respect that. But we do not know anything about your country’s practice. Best we know how Incredible India is but do not know the work environment that you come from.Let’s take a classic example.Someone from Saudi Arabia migrated to Canada and came to me for a job.He has worked in Saudi big organization, had 25 people reporting to him but no women in team membersHe followed Saudi rules and customsNow I am to hire him for a position where his boss will be a woman. Can you imagine that scenario for a second? Now he may be a good employee, or bad but how do I know if this man who has never taken an order from women suddenly will be able to coup in an environment where his boss is a woman and may be a tough one. What if his boss was a eunuchs/hijra/transgender. Many Bangladeshi, Indian or Pakistani can’t even seat in a same restaurant or share a table if there are hijra or eunuchs seating next to them, what if your boss was that.I had an employee who was a transgender. Great person and very effective employee but imagine he had to supervised someone from a Muslim world, who has never encounter suc person on day to day basis. As a Canadian experience based on its value, we are taught to be respectful of gays, transgender, women with equal rights, same as a man. Even Canadian having problem hiring them and you expect immigrant to be nice to them suddenly.99% of the chance you will not any issue or have a job that fits the last category. If someone one like that snap or said the wrong word like b$tch or c$nt out of anger and said I don’t take order from women or makes some comment regarding sex or gender issue, who do you think will be in trouble? The owner of the company or company’s reputation will be affected.Labor law will hunt me down. Sexual harassment, bribery can be death sentence to someone’s life or business. As a business owner, I am not willing to take a legal risk of hiring someone who has no knowledge or experience with Canadian values unless I am desperate. It’s all about liability nothing personal. We as a business owner care about our bottom line not yours. So, than why does Government MisleadThey don’t. They decided to bring 300,000 immigrants. But there are 7 billions people around the world. They set criteria to filterer who they want to bring. They do not consult business on regular basis. They don’t decide to bring X number of immigrants because there are X number of job1% population growth formula. Canada wants to increase its population by 1% every year.So why does government bring immigrant?Increase population by 1%Increase tax payerHave people available for jobWhat job?Do you know that Canada will have a huge shortage of plumber, electrician, welders, Auto technician?None of these jobs are considered good job by Immigrants. They see such job below society. EGO issue againDid you know that a plumber makes $50 to $75 per hour?Garbage collector can make $50 to $70 per hour?Do you think Immigrants go for such job?Did you know that truck driver can make $800 to $1500 per week driving truck from coast to coast?Government job is to bring people to fill whatever job available. Not just Doctor or IT.Government’s job is to set criteria to decide who people should come. It’s up to the people decide whether they should come or not.Government job is to ensure Canada’s economy will sustain in the futureIs Canadian government scamming immigrants for money?Okay you are supposed to bring $10,000 per family or more. Do you honestly think Canada government wants your money and that’s why they mislead you to come to Canada?Did you know? You get full medical coverage after 3 months. If you need knee surgery, zero cost to youDid you know your child will get free schooling until end of high school?Did you know that your kids can go to library for free of charge?Did you know that you get to use the road that are kept clean, population free without paying any toll? No, that $10,000 or whatever you bring, is for you to survive until you find yourself a better positionSo where is the problem?Entitlement IssueProblem lies with immigrants. They are migrating to a new country. They do not understand that migration means reset your life from zero.My father and mother came from Bangladesh in 1989. They had 3 cars in Dhaka Bangladesh, 4 servants. 1 dedicated to look after us two brothers. He had big business in Bangladesh and Middle East. But due to circumstance, they decided to migrate. Both my father and mother had master’s degreeThey knew they had to start all over again.5 days after landing in Canada (Montreal) My father worked in a socks factory, while my mother did not work until they moved to Toronto 8 months later. My mother ends up working for Red Lobster as a dish washer, while my father for temporary become Insurance sales man. We stayed in 1-bedroom house. parents lived in Living room, 4 kids lived in one room in a bunk bed (thanks to complementary of Canadian government, when we arrived, they gave us those bed for free). My father ends up working as a taxi driver for next 15 years to provide for us. Never complain about this country. Both my brother and I are in 6 figure income categories in Canada.I worked for 6 months for FREE at Computek Institute of Technology when I was 18 years told. At that time, I was Microsoft Certified. I worked volunteer to teach older people about HTML programming. Now I teach others around the world. I have a school in Toronto, Where I gave 4 Bangladesh (IT Engineers recently migrated) - $15,000 worth of courses I gave them for $1,500 each just because they are from Bangladesh. You know what happen, none of them came to class properly because they could not wake up every weekend at 9 AM but was up to post Facebook status about the tasty breakfast their wife made for them. (yes, they forgot they are on my FB friend list). Most immigrant don’t get this today. You must come with a mentality that you will start from zero or don’t come. You can get a job in your field that is great. Gravy on Top. But if you don’t get ready to work hard. Let your ego go and stop complaining about this countryNo one forced you to come here. you made your choice. Most immigrant/migrant feels that they can pause their life where they are for next 24 to 72 hours, then come to Canada and expect to resume their life from that point. No, one must be willing to reset and start all over again. How do I again Canadian experience?Start with taking courses in your subject. Google is The Greatest University.Volunteer at local small business - for FREE or small pay.Take various workshop - 80% of them are free.Change your career if need to.Write about your subject online and do online webinar and seminar for free for others. - Google Hangout allows you to host free webinar. Teach others about your subject around the world. It increases your confident and your skills of communications.Attend various free networking events. Collects leads. Follow up with them later.Join various organization that helps you find jobs. Canadian government has many non-profit organization to help.how do I plan migration?Come with less baggage. That means if possible leave your family behind for a while as if you are going to do a project for your company for 2 to 3 months. (sorry if I sound rude). When you bring you entire family, you have lot more expense to deal with compare to if you came alone. You can live in a shared room, you can save money many ways. You. can work two odd jobs to survive while maintaining your family.Bring your family just to land and send them back home while you settle and get a job and secure a good stable environment them.Family of 4 average expense will be around $2000 to $4000 depend on how you decide to live. That $10,000 to $20,000 that you are supposed to bring with you as a new immigrant will go far if you come alone for now.If you leave your family behind for 4 to 5 months, world will not change, they will not forget their father or mother. It is a temporary setback while giving you enough time to plan and figure out what to do.Even if you are a doctor, engineer, deliver pizza, work as a waitress, drive uber, while you prepare for your career in your industry.Blog about your field, write about it. Teach others online. Will help you grow your online presence.Use LinkedIn to get in touch with all the recruiters. You should spend 6 to 8 hours looking for jobs. Not watch cricket news, or spend time in your community. You will get Canadian experience. You will succeed in this country. But let go of that entitlement. Just because you are qualified in India or Pakistan, that does not mean Canadian has to honor that. Systems are different between those countryAlso remember one thingCanada is investing on your kids by allowing you to migrate. You are expendable to her. It is your kids that will change this country. You are just a vassal for now.You must also understand - if you decide to migrate, then you are not doing it for yourself. You are doing it for your kids.Otherwise do not migrate to this country. We have enough homegrown to complain about this country. We do not need outsiders.Good luck to you
