This is not a good route if you want to raise a family one day.Remember, when you complete studying and go into the profession, it’s very hard to get out of it. You’ll be very used to the hours and you probably won't want to stop, even if you have another obligation. With both careers as a lawyer or a surgeon, your work is your ONLY life. There is no time for any other. Of course, on occasion you will see your co-workers and go out for beers or whatever, but you won’t have much time to yourself.Personally, I don’t exactly recommend either careers, mainly because of the stress, inability to raise a family and work hours. It can also mess you up mentally if you’re not used to being up all night. But please, I’ll say it again, if it’s not your passion, DON’T DO IT.I’m just going to throw it out there: because you love biology and chemistry, you could look into archaeology. It’s the study of ancient artifacts/ancient grounds (basically anything ancient). It takes about the same amount of time of training as both doctor and lawyer, but it’s really fun and usually stress-free. PLUS you get to explore and go on once-in-a-lifetime adventures. I highly recommend this occupation over either of those. Plus, most archaeologists make, on average (with highly-qualified archaeologists), $80–100,000. Salary depends on level of training/studying/skill. It’s highly flexible. If not for the salary, do it for the adventure. Look into it, you might just fall in love.Hope I helped!
