Are you sure that the NRA is the problem?Oh, I know that the media and the talking heads are all making them out to be some 500 lb gorilla and the reason psychos shoot up school yards, but have you ever bothered to look into the matter beyond the headlines?I’ll give you an example. In 2017, the push was for a “Universal Background Check”. The idea was to be sure that people buying guns were not criminals. Believe it or not, the NRA wholly supports this and in fact was involved with creating the current NICS (National Instant Check System) that is used.But the bill that was proposed was not what you heard in the media. First, it would not plug any “Gunshow Loophole” because there is no such thing. The only sales at a gun show that the bill covered was private sales. Of course, private sales can occur anywhere, not just gun shows.But the bill didn’t make the NICS easier for private sales. They just required all private sales to be conducted through a licensed dealer. Had this actually passed, a gun show would be an ideal location for such sales as there would be access to many dealer. In effect, you would greatly increase the number of private sales at a gun show by this law.So, what is involved with a sale through a dealer? Well, the dealer would have to do the following:1) Record the transfer in their bound book. This is a book where all the transactions of a firearm is recorded via that dealer. The book is auditable by the BATF and many dealers have faced fines for poorly kept records, so many dealers go to great pains to keep their book neat and accurate.2) Fill out the federal form 4473. This is required by all dealer sales of both new and used guns. It asks for the buyer’s name, address, the make and model of the gun, serial number, and then asks a bunch of questions. The dealer can get fined if the person fills out the form wrong. For example, answering a question with “Y” or “N” instead of “Yes” or “No” is a BATF violation. So the dealer has to carefully examine the form for errors and have the person fill out another if errors are found.3) The dealer then calls into the NICS. NICS can come back with a “Proceed”, “Denied” or “Delay”. A delay can take up to 3 days. Typically this is a name that appears similar to a Prohibited Person and requires some research. If this happens, the transfer is on hold. The dealer has no idea when the result of the research is likely to finish. If you are at a gun show, the show could be over before the approval is made.4) All this paperwork, verification, etc takes time. Time is money. So dealers charge for this service. It is typical for a dealer to charge $25-$40 per gun, but sometimes multiple guns get a discount because the dealer can process up to 4 on a single form, but when more than one gun is transferred, the dealer has to fill out Form 3310 which is supposed to help with gun trafficking.All of this is well and good if you are buying a gun from someone you don’t know and many people will require sales be conducted at a dealer for the piece of mind such protections provide. But friends and family typically do not bother with the hassle and expense.One thing you need to realize is that to get a gun dealer license is not an easy process. Since the federal government cracked down on so called “kitchen table” dealers back in the 1980’s, you now must show a commercially zoned storefront with posted business hours to qualify. Many communities don’t want gun shops, and use zoning laws to make them difficult or unattractive. For example the city of Boston does not have any dealers. In fact, the nearest dealer is 3 towns away. Many rural areas don’t have the traffic to keep a dealer in business and you’ll find they are typically only open in the evening or on a Saturday as they work another full time job. Keep this in mind as we get into the next issue.But the bill didn’t stop at sales. It stated that ALL transfers had to be done in this manner. No exceptions. So, two friends out on a hunt would need to go through the whole process listed above just to swap guns for the afternoon. Oh, and they would have to do it all again to give the gun back. It is very common on a range to try out other people’s guns - such a thing would also require the full transfer and back process. Demo guns at a national event by manufacturers? Same thing.Basically any time a gun were to swap hands, the law would apply. There are private shooting clubs where guns are treated like library books and members take whatever they want. Families regularly swap guns. Heck, some shooting courses provide guns for students to use. All of these events would have been impacted by these new transfer requirements.The NRA balked at this. Essentially the rule would curtail many of the traditions and practices that are very common and virtually never result in any kind of criminal activity. In essence it would criminalize things that simply are not crimes.Not only would it create criminals where no criminal intent existed, but the cost to manage the volume of temporary transfers, the staffing needed to take the calls and do the checks would have cost millions each year. All money that would not go toward actually dealing with criminals.When the issue was brought up, many members of Congress agreed the requirements were too restrictive and the whole bill failed to pass. The supporters of the bill did not even attempt to listen to the complaints and work out a manageable fix.Did you hear any of that in the media?But what about catching criminals?Well, the bill didn’t change anything in regards to enforcing the rules to make sure the people who should not own guns were properly entered into NICS. In fact, other than maybe getting fired, there is NO PENALTY for failing to report a person. We have laws that will jail a teacher or coach that fail to report bullies. We have laws that put priests in prison who fail to report potential inappropriate behaviors in other clergy. But we do not have any laws that punish law enforcement agents that fail to do their job and make sure that dangerous people are reported to the background system. And this bill made no effort to change that.NICS is not open to anyone but federally licensed gun dealers. The left are so worried that the system might be used to check people for things other than guns that they refuse to create a means to allow people to verify someone they are selling a gun to. It would be easy to create an app that takes a photo of the buyer and seller’s ID (or just their faces and type in some data) and then return a simple “Proceed” or “Deny” with no other details. You’d have plenty of information to audit for illegal use. And if someone didn’t have an ID, they could then use a dealer. Heck, you can’t file taxes on-line without submitting some kind of ID, so this isn’t anything unique.And yet, the bill did nothing to address the issue of accessing the NICS for easier private sales.Here is the thing. We have 20,000 gun laws in this country. On the federal side, a prohibited person touching a gun could see them in prison for a minimum of 5 years. And yet, we still see cities with high violent crime rates that have virtually no federal cases. Why isn’t law enforcement using those stiff federal laws to get the violent people off the streets? Such a program called “Project Exile” worked wonders in Richmond, VA to reduce violent crime dramatically.OK, back to the “Universal Background Check” bill.I spent a lot of words above explaining what the bill would have required of people and why the situation would have been a nightmare. You never saw any of this in the news and the media pretty much ignored the issue.When the bill was defeated, it was never reported that a “terrible bill that would have cost millions and made criminals out of the innocent was defeated”, instead, all you ever heard was“The NRA used its influence to defeat the Universal Background Check bill that would have closed the gunshow loophole”Almost everything about that statement is false.So, be careful what you want to “Fight Against”. I suspect that most of what you think about the NRA is highly biased due to the way the organization is treated in the media. When you look at the actual facts, many times their concerns are quite valid. And, they have a lot of rank and file law enforcement on their side which helps them represent real world situations. I’ve found their positions in many cases very well presented. Most of the arguments you get on TV news are highly edited and taken out of context to promote an agenda, not facilitate a debate.Make sure you know what you are fighting for. You might be surprised.

In contrast when the electromagnetic force binds an electron to a proton to produce the Hydrogen atom, the Hydrogen atom is lighter than the sum of the masses of the electron and proton by about [math]13\ electron\ Volts/c^2[/math].The Charge of the Proton and ElectronThe reason the proton's charge is the same magnitude as the electron charge is because charge is quantized and conserved. Since a neutral neutron can decay to a proton, an electron and a neutral anti-neutrino, the proton and electron must have equal and opposite charges.But a proton with one unit of charge is composed of three quarks - two up quarks and one down quark. To make this work, it turns out that the up quark has a charge of +2/3 of the unit charge and the down quark has -1/3 unit of charge. So the sum of the charges is +1 unit whereas the electron has -1 unit of charge. There is some mass associated with the charge of the electron and proton, but for the proton it is not signNow since the charge ends up being smeared, on average, over the relatively large size of the proton. However, since the electron is an elementary particle, if you naively calculate the mass of the electric field of a point particle (like the electron) you would get infinity. This is where the field theory renormalization procedure is used to arrive at a finite charge and a finite mass for an elementary particle like an electron by letting the "bare" charge and "bare"mass go to zero as the higher energy parts of the calculations are included to give the measured actual mass and charge of the electron.Comparing Color Force and Electrostatic ForceTo explain how the binding energy of the color force gives the proton most of it's mass, I will explain how the color force and the electrostatic force differ.For the hydrogen atom the force between the electron and the proton (in classical terms) varies as [math]1/r^2[/math] so when the electron and proton are separated by a large distance the force goes to 0 so at large distance the electron and proton will become free particles. Therefore it is possible to compare the mass of the bare electron and proton to the mass of the hydrogen atom and in fact the hydrogen atom will have less mass than the sum of the masses of the electron and proton. Note that when the electron and proton are very close the force between them increases to infinity. Also note that for the electrostatic force the charge can either be [math]+[/math] or [math]-[/math].However, the color force between two (or three) quarks is quite different. In a very simplified model you can think about the force between two quarks as varying like [math]r[/math] or [math]r^2[/math]. First of all note that when [math]r \rightarrow 0[/math] the force goes to 0. This is the asymptotic freedom of the color force which was discovered in 1973 and for which Gross, Wilczek and Politzer were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2004. This means that at very high energies (and short distances) the quarks act like free particles and the color force is small.When [math]r \rightarrow \infty[/math] the force goes to [math]\infty[/math]. This model of a force that increases with distance is another statement of the principle of color confinement in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). So, if you start with the three quarks bound into the proton and if you try to pull one of the quarks out of the proton, it will take more and more force and thus more and more energy as you pull the quark out. So as you try to separate the quark out of the proton, the proton actually gets heavier. In fact at some point when enough energy has been added to the system it becomes energetically favorable to create a new [math]q\bar{q}[/math] pair in the region between the quark the residual "proton". Now the the newly created [math]\bar{q}[/math] will be attracted to the quark that is being pulled out of the proton whereas the other newly created [math]q [/math] will be pulled back into the proton which will then constitute a normal proton again with 3 quarks. Meanwhile the [math]q[/math] that is being pulled out and the newly created [math]\bar{q}[/math] will become bound together as a meson - therefore the attempt to pull a quark out of a proton will result in a final state that has a meson and a proton. Obviously these two particles will be heavier than a single proton, so this is similar to the hydrogen atom case where the separated particles are heavier than the original particle.So the weird thing about the strong color force is that due to the fact the force increases with distance instead of decreasing with distance, it is impossible to separate the bound state of quarks into individual quarks and thus it is impossible to compare the constituent masses to the mass of the bound state. But when you do try to separate a quark from a bound state of quarks you will end up creating new kinds of particles and these new particles will be heavier than the original bound state of quarks.The strong force is called a color force because there are 3 different kinds of color "charges" in QCD, unlike electrostatics which only has 1 charge. The color charges can be +Red, -Red. +Green, -Green, +Blue or -Blue just at the electric charge can be "+" or "-". (There are no "real" colors, or course, physicists just use the term color since there are 3 primary colors which matches up with the names needed for the 3 different "charges" of quarks) One of the reasons why the strong color force between two or three quarks is different than the electrostatic force between an electron and proton is that the force carriers of the strong force (the gluons) are also colored therefore the gluons are also strongly attracted to each other. Whereas in the electrostatic case, the force carriers (virtual photons) are uncharged so two virtual photons do not attract each other. The fact that gluons will interact with other gluons with the same strong color force is thought to be the reason for color confinement. When two quarks are being pulled apart, it is thought that a tube of gluons that interact with each other will form between the separating quarks, acting like a rubber band pulling them together with a stronger force as the separation increases. Of course the real reason the strong color force acts in such a different way than the electromagnetic force is due to the detailed mathematics and interactions of the the gauge group symmetries of the different forces, but that is far to complicated to explain on Quora.Why does the proton have the size it does?So if the color force is so strong, why aren't the 3 quarks all clumped together in a very tiny volume instead of filling up the approximate 1.6 fermi spherical volume of the proton? Well, the same question could be asked about the hydrogen atom, why doesn't the proton pull the electron in very close and make a tiny atom? After all the force increases between them the closer they are together. The reason is QM as in the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. If the electron were localized to a small volume, the uncertainty in it's momentum would have to be large which means it would immediately travel outside that small volume. Similarly if all the quarks were confined in a small volume their momentum uncertainty would be large and they would move apart. In addition, the color force is weak at short distance so there really is no strong force trying to keep them in a small volume the way the proton tries to keep the electron close by in hydrogen. In fact, the color force really kicks in when the quarks are separated by about a fermi or so. So it is really a leakage of the color force that holds the nucleus together.The proton and neutron overall have no net color charge; they are uncharged in the sense that a neutral atom of hydrogen has no net electric charge even though it is made up of two charged particles. In the same way that the "leakage" of the electrical force allows two hydrogen atoms to be attracted to each other and form a [math]H^2[/math] molecule, similarly the "leakage" of the color charge allows a proton and a neutron to be attracted to each other and form a deuterium nucleus. You could almost imagine that the proton, overall has no color on average, but there are small patches here and there on the surface of the proton that do have charge and that allow it to bind to other nucleons.

Both told that they have also worked in such outlets for some time and were fired for not cheating Customers.My other observation for such JunkFood companies is that their Cash Register don't have dual screen. Customer cannot see the live inputs of their order. This is how you never have any idea till you physically verify the bill. If you ask about wrong additions, the cashier will first start with a weird look and will tell you 'the bill is already printed and he / she cannot do anything about it'. If you insist, they will start crying that their job will be at stake if he / she tries to alter the bill.Secondly these JunkFood companies have created so much social hype in India that if someone tries to verify the bill, family members will stop them from doing so as they (especially kids) are poisoned that checking Bill is considered very rude and act by illiterate or mentally backwards by their effective advertisements.On further investigation, I came to know that all these JunkFood companies have terabytes and terabytes of data on impact of their JunkFood on human health but are successfully hiding from Health Authorities by giving millions in bribing. They also have your personal data (collected through their App and when you give your mobile number or email address for registration to get reward points or discount) which they are analysing and using in brain washing by different advertisements. Children are their primary and easy targets.Now you have got idea on these JunkFood companies' DirtyTricks, save money by checking Bill before paying.To all my fellow Indians,I have decided to not to go not only to McDonald's but to any of such multinational JunkFood companies who cares only for their profit, go to any extent to steal our money and never care for our health.I know it is difficult to stop our family to go for these JunkFood but ensure that while damaging your health by consuming their JunkFood, that you don't damage your pockets too. I was selected for a summer internship 2016.I tried to be very open while filling the preference form: I choose many products as my favorite products and I said I'm open about the team I want to join.I even was very open in the  location and start date to get host matching interviews (I negotiated the start date in the interview until both me and my host were happy.) You could ask your recruiter to review your form (there are very cool and could help you a lot since they have a bigger experience).Do a search on the potential team.Before the interviews,  try to find smart question that you are going to ask for the potential host (do a search on the team  to find nice and deep questions to impress your host). Prepare well your resume.You are very likely not going to get algorithm/data structure questions like in the first round. It's going to be just some friendly chat if you are lucky. If your potential team is working on something like machine learning, expect that  they are going to ask you questions about machine learning, courses related to machine learning you have and relevant experience (projects, internship). Of course you have to study that before the interview. Take as long time as you need if you feel rusty. It takes some time to get ready for the host matching (it's less than the technical interview)  but it's worth it of course.
