How long does it take to walk into a gun store and come out with a semi-automatic, if I have a clean record in America?
It depends on the state, and I’m not an expert - but I wanted to share my personal experience for a couple reasons. It may surprise some people - especially non-gun ownersI feel it illustrates that gun control and gun laws are two different things and before jumping to the conclusion that we need more (or fewer) laws pertaining to guns, everyone should take a few minutes to educate themselves and use common sense (gasp)This is my first time gun buying experience from about 4–5 years ago.I’d done quite a bit of research online, pretty much settled on what I wanted and decided it was time to walk into a gun store to look and make the final decision in person. After about 15 minutes I’d settled on a gen 4 Glock 19. The store was running a special on the gen 4s and I received a free box of ammunition, as well as an extra magazine. Awesome.Next up it was time to go through the background check and pay. I had to wait, because there was an older guy and his son in front of me. He was purchasing the gun for his son (because he wasn’t 21) - apparently his son was joining a junior police academy and needed a handgun. Well, his background check came back - he had some kind of domestic abuse charge - no gun for you, no gun for your son. The owner of the gun shop chastised him for even wasting her time since he clearly knew that was on his record. My turn. They ran my details, everything came back clean and it was time to pay. Something people may not realize is that guns aren’t cheap. Mine was close to $500. That’s a decent chunk of change and puts them out of many people’s signNow economically. Of course, I’d imagine criminals acquire weapons for much less - but then again they don’t go through the proper channels.Great, background check cleared, I’ve paid and ready to go. The guy behind the counter bags things up and hands it to me - then the owner starts berating him. Apparently by putting the newly purchased gun (still in the case) and the box of ammunition, into the same bag they were setting me up to get a felony when I walked out of the store. They also gave me specific instructions about putting the gun and/or ammo in the trunk of my car - NOT the passenger compartment. Again, throwing the now two separate shopping bags into my back seat would have potentially been criminal (felony). This is where things get crazy. In Ohio, you can load up a gun - put it in a holster (on the outside of your clothes) and walk around in most public places. But, as soon as you cover up the gun - or get into a car with it - you’re breaking the law (felony) unless you’ve gotten a special license/permit. This requires more background checks, fingerprinting, attending a class, paying more money, etc. Now, let’s say you’re all about following the letter of the law and you go through all of these steps so that you can carry your gun in your car. Things don’t get easier - because each state can be different. Despite having a permit, passing the background checks, etc - if you happen to drive into Chicago you could be in a lot of trouble. Apparently, you can drive right through with no problems, but if you step foot outside of your car (even to get gas, even if you leave the gun in the car) you’re now in a world of trouble (felony). It makes you wonder why Chicago has so much gun violence when the gun laws there are so strict. The laws are very strict for gun owners, they can be very confusing, and it seems, by definition, only followed by law abiding citizens.

How can I understand if people around think that I’m a transgender or cisgender woman?
Most of the time, you just flat can’t know.I was at an airport bar recently (I spend way too much time in airports) and an older couple got to chatting with me while we waited for our flight to Seattle. The couple was convinced of two really amusing things:I was in my 20s. The number of comments about ‘when I get to be older’ coming from a couple about 12 years my senior was hilarious. That my ‘biological clock’ would start ticking if I hadn’t gotten around to having kids by the time I hit my 30s.I didn’t have the heart to tell them that I’m about to hit my 40s… or that I’m trans. I just let drop that my wife and I had been married for over 10 years at this point and that if we hadn’t had kids by now it wasn’t going to happen. Bless their hearts, they let me know that we ‘still had options’ if either of us wanted to get pregnant.Pretty clearly they had no idea that I’m trans. Yay, go me. Conditional passing privilege and all that.Other times, people make it clear that they know I’m trans. When I’m moving in LGBT areas, especially if it’s anywhere I have to fill out a form, when I tell people my name is ‘Jae’ they think I said that my name is ‘Jay’ and they double check for my ‘preferred name’ and reassure me that I don’t have to use my legal name. My legal name is ‘Jae’, I don’t have a ‘preferred name’ my name is ‘Jae.’ That’s a privilege of being transitioned as opposed to transitioning. My ducks all line up.In a way, it’s ironic. From people who don’t have a clue what kind of language to use around transgender people (I don’t just spend too much time in airports, I spend too much time in airports to tiny conservative towns with tiny 3 terminal airports) … I get the most gender affirming treatment. They correctly assume my pronouns and treat me like a woman and it’s no big deal. From people who know more about transgender folk, my trans status gets active attention in a way that is a bit othering. It’s the world we live in, imperfect in its attempts to put a tremendous swath of human diversity into boxes that our minds can easily grasp. Sometimes you know that people think of you as specifically cisgender or transgender… most of the time though, you won’t have a clue. I’ve often wondered ‘does the cashier at the grocery store know that I’m trans and call me ‘ma’am’ because she’s being polite, or does she not know that I’m trans?’ And really, does it matter?Personally, I try not to waste too much mental energy on what other people think but don’t say to me. I have enough to deal with on the things people do actually say, I don’t need to borrow more worry.

How do I cash a 3rd party cashiers check made out to a business name?
The short answer. Third party business checks are very risky items. Typically a reputable small business owners will not, and should give you a check made payable to the business to a 3rd party as payment. And the 3rd party should not take it- because it’s not payable to you. Lack of or irregular endorsement may cause the check to return for up to 3 years. Cashiers can come back unreturned if the business can proof that they didn’t endorse the check. Being paid to a third party may be enough to proof it. However here is the rub.If the business goes to their financial institution for an endorsement guarantee. You might be able to cash it at a local money service center or check cashing store. No bank will touch it.Good luck

NOOOOOOO. You are talking to a military romance scammer. I received an email from the US Army that directly answers your question that is pasted below please keep reading.I believe you are the victim of a military Romance Scam whereas the person you are talking to is a foreign national posing as an American Soldier claiming to be stationed overseas on a peacekeeping mission. That's the key to the scam they always claim to be on a peacekeeping mission.Part of their scam is saying that they have no access to their money that their mission is highly dangerous. If your boyfriend girlfriend/future husband/wife is asking you to do the following or has exhibited this behavior, it is a most likely a scam:Moves to private messaging site immediately after meeting you on Facebook or SnapChat or Instagram or some dating or social media site. Often times they delete the site you met them on right after they asked you to move to a more private messaging siteProfesses love to you very quickly & seems to quote poems and song lyrics along with using their own sort of broken language, as they profess their love and devotion quickly. They also showed concern for your health and love for your family.Promises marriage as soon as he/she gets to state for leave that they asked you to pay for. They Requests money (wire transfers) and Amazon, iTune ,Verizon, etc gift cards, for medicine, religious practices, and leaves to come home, internet access, complete job assignments, help sick friend, get him out of trouble, or anything that sounds fishy. The military does provide all the soldier needs including food medical Care and transportation for leave. Trust me, I lived it, you are probably being scammed. And how to learn more about Romance Scams.Right now you can also copy the picture he gave you and do a google image search and you will hopefully see the pictures of the real person he is impersonating. this doesn't always work and take some digging. if you find the real person you can direct message them and alert them that their image is being used for scamming.Good Luck to you and I'm sorry this may be happening to you. please continue reading the government response I received below it's very informative. You have contacted an email that is monitored by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. Unfortunately, this is a common concern. How do I cash a cashiers check made out to someone else?
Please think about this, assuming that the check is endorsed on the back to you :How is the organization you are asking to cash the check gong to know that the endorsement is valid? The third party doesn’t usually come along to verify his/her identity, and the company has n reason to believe you.Your best bet is to deposit the check into your checking account, wait for however many days the bank decides to hold it for clearing, and then withdraw the money from your checking account.
