He had been on disability for a broken back and pelvis and had a handicapped placard. 3 months after he died I received a new placard and figured they just hadn't gotten it in the system yet. Trust me, I lived it, you are probably being scammed. It limits who they can collect from in the event of a default.If you both own the car outright - i.e., have the pink slip, the simple solution is to have them sign their portion of the pink slip off, giving you sole control of the vehicle. Then you could take it to DMV and have it solely in your name, though I’m not sure it’s necessary.

Complete form REG 227, duplicate title, and send it in via mail. They will mail you a duplicate title. Keep in mind that only one copy of a title is suposed to exist at one time. If you have one already you dont need another one.
