Trust me, I lived it, you are probably being scammed. If someone decided to lodge a report of a stolen vehicle as revenge or for any reason that was not legitimate, it could place someone in serious danger. If any law enforcement saw a vehicle entered into NCIC as stolen they must take precautions as if a dangerous person is in possession of it.
