[Music] cancer is a very diverse disease there is an astounding number of different mutations that drive the cancer process and if you think about combinations of them as we see in different tumors have different combinations the number of possibilities is astronomical so the lesson is that cancer is an extremely complicated disease and we will really only understand it and tame it I think with extraordinarily deep analysis of big data and this comes down to I think a key question this experience convinced me that we need big data we need deep analysis of very big datasets to really make progress in human health and we need more than a million new cancer cases so I am big proponent of continuing to push genomic analysis into cancer treatment and that's happening a lot now we have many many cancer cases where at least some of the genes a few hundred genes are read as part of the analysis of that cancer case I would push that towards whole genome sequencing if you look at what happened i
