(Kenya Johns) Hi. My name is Kenya Johns and I am currently receiving my doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. I work as a foster family support consultant helping foster families as they navigate bridging their families into one. My career aspirations are very simple. I want to help people. My ultimate goal is to have a non-profit working with at risk youth and helping them sustain their lives and learn skills and techniques to further their education. One of my favorite things about the program is the flexibility and the ability to be an individual. I'm really big on having your own identity and your own sense of self. As a counselor, that's important to me. The thing I liked best about the program was the experience of supervising the master's students. The Duquesne student body is so diverse that I worked with so many different people and they had different needs and I was able to learn how to adapt, learn new skills and develop those skills along the way.
