[Music] hello my name is armand lannard and i am heading into my junior year at the south dakota school of mines in technology i am currently just pursuing degrees in both chemistry and mechanical engineering one of my major motivate motivations for getting into these fields is that i want to give back to society and hopefully improve the lives of others in middle school but especially in high school i identified energy information processing and aerospace as some high impact areas of research and career choice that i would really love to go into i feel as though getting education in both chemistry and mechanical engineering is giving me a strong foundation to pursue the challenges in those in those fields beyond that though i think it's also important to get out of the classroom and to do some hands-on experiences as part of that for myself i'm currently doing research under dr sumernova and as part of a larger team at the school of mines this research is focused on solid-state batter
