hi my name is first lieutenant devin stevens i'm an 11 alpha and infantry officer and we're here in donnelly training area in alaska so this exercise is called arctic warrior 21 it's a brigade exercise for 4-2-5 infantry brigade we conducted a jfeo which is a joint forcible entry operation in which we had a group of jumpers clear the fls and the rest of our combat power landed on the planes via airland and we're now conducting sustainment operations to survive the night i would guess right now it's probably negative 20 so you can imagine standing in the door when it's negative 30 with a 90 mile an hour wind probably feels like negative 80 negative 90 jumping out of the bird really cold landing in the snow you're trying to get all your equipment ready to go pack up your parachute just as fast as possible so you can get warm it was a pretty crazy so up here in alaska we have what's called akio temps which you can see behind me akio tents are 10 man squad tents they have a stove that runs
