Alabama Expungement Cost 2017-2024 Form

I asked this question myself, quite some time ago. I was travelling from New Delhi to Bhubaneshwar and had the pleasure of interacting with a few police officers who were in the same compartment as me. The conversation went like this,Me:"Aapna ra police officer?" (*Are you people police officers*)Officer 1:"Tor dekhe ki lagche?" (*What do you think*)Me:"Haan dekhe toh police hi lagche. Amaar kichu proshno chilo jodi tomra answer korbe to bhalo. Please aieta onno bhabe niyo na." (*Yes, you seem like police officers. I have a few questions, if you'd be kind enough to answer. Please don't take this the wrong way.*)*my Bengali is pretty broken and I have a lot of trouble speaking it fluently, as I've was born and brought up in Jamshedpur and I've been talking in Hindi my entire life and always hung out with my Bihari friends. So things were pretty awkward*Officer 1:"Hindi bolte paro?" (*Can you speak Hindi?*)Me: "Haan thank you." *sigh of relief* (*Yes thank you.*)Me:"Toh mere sawaal ye tha ki agar koi crime hota hai, aur aap kisi ko suspect karte hai aur usko questioning ke liye leke jaate hai toh uske baad kya hota hai? Bas, andha dhun thaape thaap maarte raho jab tak confess nahi karta hai?" (*So, my question was this that if a crime has been committed and you people suspect someone and bring him in for questioning. Then what happens? Do you just beat the crap out of the person until he confesses to his crimes?*)Officer 1: *Laughs* "Jo tum bol raha hai torture kehlata hai aur abhi IPC ke rules ki hisaab se allowed nahi hai. Ye jo tum bol raha hai wo pehle hota tha, abhi nahi. Jab se (don't recall the exact term used here) *New? Liberal?* government aaya hai tab se ye sab nahi hota hai. Jo lock up mein questioning hota hai usme thoda bahut ek-do jhaapad maara jaata hai. Aur sawaal pucha jaata hai." (*What you're stating comes under torture and according to the rules of IPC, it isn't allowed. What you're sating used to be done earlier, not now. Since the new, liberal  government has come to power this has stopped. Whatever questioning is done in the lockup , in that one or two slaps are thrown just to loosen the tongue, and questions are asked.*)Officer 2:"Dekho. Police ka kaam hi hota hai ki dimaag ka haalat bigaadna aur jawaab nikalna. Lekin utna nahi maara pita jaata hai." (*See. It's the police's job to mess up the person's mind and get answers , but still we don;t beat the living daylights out of people.*)Then the conversation continued about what I do and why I asked this question among other things.tl;dr... Yes they beat the suspect up a bit but all that's very "minor" compared to what was done earlier.

Taxes can be viewed as having 4 uses (or purposes) in our (and most) governments:Revenue generation (to pay for public services).Fiscal policy control (e.g., If the government wishes to reduce the money supply in order to reduce the risk of inflation, they can raise interest rates, sell fewer bonds, burn money, or raise taxes. In the last case, this represents excess tax revenue over the actual spending needs of the government).Wealth re-distribution. One argument for this is that the earnings of a country can be perceived as belonging to all of its citizens since the we all have a stake in the resources of the country (natural resources, and intangibles such as culture, good citizenship, civic duties). Without some tax policy complexity, the free market alone does not re-distribute wealth according to this "shared" resources concept. However, this steps into the boundary of Purpose # 4...A way to implement Social Policy (and similar government mandated policies, such as environmental policy, health policy, savings and debt policy, etc.). As Government spending can be use to implement policies (e.g., spending money on public health care, environmental cleanup, education, etc.), it is equivalent to provide tax breaks (income deductions or tax credits) for the private sector to act in certain ways -- e.g., spend money on R&D, pay for their own education or health care, avoid spending money on polluting cars by having a higher sales tax on these cars or offering a credit for trade-ins [ref: Cash for Clunkers]).Uses # 1 & 2 are rather straight-forward, and do not require a complex tax code to implement. Flat income and/or consumption (sales) taxes can easily be manipulated up or down overall for these top 2 uses. Furthermore, there is clarity when these uses are invoked. For spending, we publish a budget. For fiscal policy manipulation, the official economic agency (The Fed) publishes their outlook and agenda.Use # 3 is controversial because there is no Constitutional definition for the appropriate level of wealth re-distribution, and the very concept of wealth re-distribution is considered by some to be inappropriate and unconstitutional. Thus, the goal of wealth re-distribution is pretty much hidden in with the actions and policies of Use #4 (social policy manipulation).Use # 4, however, is where the complexity enters the Taxation system. Policy implementation through taxation (or through spending) occurs via legislation. Legislation (law making) is inherently complex and subject to gross manipulation by special interests during formation and amendments. Legislation is subject to interpretation, is prone to errors (leading to loopholes) and both unintentional or intentional (criminal / fraudulent) avoidance.The record keeping and forms referred to in the question are partially due to the basic formula for calculating taxes (i.e., percentage of income, cost of property, amount of purchase for a sales tax, ...). However, it is the complexity (and associated opportunities for exploitation) of taxation legislation for Use # 4 (Social Policy implementation) that naturally leads to complexity in the reporting requirements for the tax system.

The new Alabama expungement law provides that you must pay an administrative filing fee of $300.00 to file the expungement petition. This could be in addition to any court costs or docket fee imposed by your local Circuit Court Clerk.

It depends on the County you were convicted in, but the filing fee is generally around $120 plus attorneys fees should you hire one. I do not charge that much to handle first offense petty theft expungements.
