What did you do after getting recommended from SSB?
What did you do after getting recommended from SSB?It was this day of 02nd July at SSB Bhopal when in second and last attempt I was recommended for training at OTA. Six months back, I was rejected at SSB Allahabad. When I was in the list of selected candidates, it was the biggest feeling of achievement. I had worked on it since last seven years. I had joined in the ranks of Indian Navy seven years back. After completing two years of basic training as Naval boy, I ventured onto realisation of alleviating my career from rank to Officer. I took admission for graduation as external candidate. I used to sail on board warship. I used to perform six hours duty and in next six hours of rest, I used to study for three hours and sleep for three hours. When i was in last year of the graduation, I attempted both simultaneously, the CDS exam and final year. I Passed both but got rejected in SSB. I had come to Allahabad from Andaman islands for SSB. Having been rejected, I decided not to show face to my father and went back to port Blair to be back with unit. I had one more chance . This time again I passed CDS and made it at SSB Bhopal. As I found my name in the list, I kept the happiness hidden as there were other candidates who were depressed as they could not make it.The first call I made was to my Commanding Officer. He was waiting for the news. I could hear him making announcement on PA system in unit lines about my selection. He ordered me “ Last time after you failed at SSB Allahabad, you didn't go on leave. Now proceed on two weeks leave from Bhopal. Spend time with family. After leave report at Chennai. I will have you flew in air force cargo plane to Port Blair.”I picked up my bag and left SSB centre for railway station. There was some hours left for departure of the train. It was drizzling. I went and sat in solitude at Lake Bhojtal. Closed eyes and thanked god for having bestowed on me what I dreamt. On the way, found shop selling army uniform and accessories.signNowed next day hometown of Aurangabad. Father and Mother were surprised at sudden appearance of me. I had smaller luggage. I used to always bring a defence made whiskey for father. This time I asked him to close eyes. I placed in his handIt took seconds for him to know what was it. He stood up like a young man and embraced me and started weeping. The joy of tears. The news was out in our village that someone first time is going to become officer in army. Two days later my birthday was celebrated amidst the entire village.I left after my leave was over. I reported back to Chennai. The CO had kept his promise.First time in life flew in air and that too in cargo plane. After two months, again the kind CO summoned me and asked me to pack up my bag and report to his office. He said “ I am sorry to inform you that your father has passed away. I am sanctioning you leave again. After rituals, report directly for training at OTA”. He personally dropped me at Port Blair Airport, never to be seen again later”.

What is the rudest thing you have ever done?
The rudest thing I ever did also changed my life. During my first year in college, I was sitting at a little outdoor coffee shop on campus. It was a nice, sunny day, and the patio was packed with people. The shop was alongside one of the main campus arteries, and crowds of people were walking by, to and from their classes. In the distance I noticed a young blind woman working her way among the human traffic flow. She had a cane, as many blind people do, and was using it to navigate along the edge of the path at a steady pace. Just another young student like me, going to class. As she made her way along the railing of the shop and past my table, I glanced over my shoulder to view her road ahead. And then I saw it. A large tree was on the edge of the path, its old branches had long since grown out in every direction. One particular branch, on its heavenwardly ascent, cut an angle into the avenue. It only intersected the path at head height for a few feet, an easy obstruction to duck aside or avoid on such a wide lane.Easy, of course, if you can see it. I froze. In the massive throng of people, no one else seemed to notice the impending meeting between head and branch. Just me. I knew I should shout out. I absolutely and unquestionably knew I should start yelling loudly "blind woman, please stop!" Maybe vault the rail that separated the coffee shop from the avenue and run to her. Anything but just sit there. But I didn't. The coffee shop was crowded that day. Cute young women, interesting looking artsy peers, fellow classmates. The very type of people I was eager to meet as a new freshman at a strange school, far from home. And somehow that checked me. I was scared of seeming like a crazy person shouting to a blind woman. I didn't want to stand out. So I did nothing. And of course, only aware to dangers on the ground with her cane, she hit her head on the low branch. She hit it hard. I could hear it. I still hear it. I sat and watched her suffer pain, because I was afraid to stand up and stand out to do the right thing. As I said, that event changed my life. I'd always tried to be a good person, helpful and courteous. But I failed that day for no reason other than some ridiculous notion of peer acceptance. I failed my father, as I have no doubt he would have shouted out. And he taught me better. I failed my personal ethics and my sense of right. I failed another human being. And that moment decades ago has absolutely shaped my life. It has molded my behavior with friends, strangers, social and professional settings. I've worked hard to redeem that moment in my actions and interactions ever since, though often I feel I never really can. And yes, I understand that young woman hit her head 20 years ago, and likely long since forgot the moment. The few people I have related this story think it foolish I've let this stay with me so long. But to me, it reverberates as if yesterday, and I imagine it always will. It has been my constant reminder to never freeze, never falter, and never fail to do the right thing.

My mother recently informed me she baptized my two children against my wishes; how should I confront her on this matter?
Let me tell ya a little story. When my husband was in the hospital, he woke up one day to see a priest looming over him, giving him last rites. This was the ONLY time he was frightened, because in his mind, last rites was what you’d do right before someone died. Then he realized that I was not in the room, and that if he was actually that close to death, I would have been there with him. After he got out of the hospital, he told his mother about this, and the first words out of her mouth were, “I didn’t send him!” She tried to say that maybe the hospital arranged it, or maybe it was one of the priests from one of the churches she belong to (three, of different denominations of which only one does last rites) who stopped by to say hello. Or maybe it was some other priest that stopped by.Suspicious, that. When my husband arrived at the hospital, he filled out the intake form and said he didn’t want any religious folks visiting him, and he did not want last rites. That would have stopped the hospital-affiliated clergy from visiting him, but it’s not like they would have stopped a priest that my MIL specifically sent there, particularly if he showed up stealthily, with a scarf covering his collar.Later, two of my MILs step children made comments to me about how sick my husband must have been to have been given last rites. Hmmm … how did they hear that? It’s pretty obvious to me that she sent a priest to give him last rites, behind my back, and behind my husband’s (mostly unconscious) back. But here’s the thing. If she had come to me and said that it was important to her, I would have said yes. I know she’s deep into all three of her religions, and if last rites would have comforted one of her multiple souls, I might have asked her to wait until his condition was more dire, but I wouldn’t have said absolutely no. The ritual wouldn’t have meant anything to my husband, as I would have made sure he wasn’t conscious (and thus not frightened) and it wouldn’t have meant any more to me than if someone came in and waved feathers around to banish demons. But if she wanted that, too, I would have been fine with it, as long as it didn’t affect his health or mental well-being.I was annoyed at first that she did this behind my back, but that’s how she is. She’s happier when she’s sneaking around and manipulating and thinking that she’s getting away with something. She has only a glancing association with honesty, so she felt better lying to us than admitting what she did.She is what she is. In the end, it didn’t harm anyone.

How can I prepare my English for a banking exam?
9Good Question>>>This question is good bcz there is a lot of peoples who have suffer from this problem. In bank exams the cut off of English is quite low, yet almost 60% people failed here in English section only, why?, this is a big problem but luckily I have a solution for this problem which break hurdles of your path easily with minimal efforts. So, first take a look of the whole syllabus of English which is asked in banks exams>>>RC, Spot the Error, Fillers, Cloze test, Sentence Arrangement. This is short look of the pattern of asking questions in Bank’s papers. I wood tell you here what should you do to get through this. Here are some important things which you should do for boosting your numbers in English section especially.Problems :1.Grammar : You read this or not, it doesn’t matter in bank exams. Anyone who has a little bit of understanding of english only as a language, can do its questions when it comes in D-day, but the only point is he/she had a general Idea about solving question which varied from person to person. If you’re the aspirant of SSC then you have to know about grammar little bit more but if you’re a aspirant of banking exams then it doesn’t matter more. Anyway, if someone amongst you want to read Grammar then don’t use too many books for Grammar, if you want you can use this book SHINE BOOK but even if you not take this then also its not harm you bcz this book contained some rarest SSC level grammar rules which can also helpful for you in your understanding of the subject a bit more.2. Word Power : It is the key for your success, How?, I would tell you here. Fillers, Cloze test will create almost 99% questions based on word power bcz if you know the importance of any word as well as their meanings then you can use to it in fillers and Cloze test. Honestly 100% questions you can do it only through this even if 40 % question RC will be based on word power. How you built it, I would tell you later.3. 60% RC : It will covered from your understanding. Suppose anyone who had a sufficient knowledge of English can read a passage and knew easily about central Idea which is only 10% of RC but what about the other 50%. Therefore you have to understand this from your own. So, How would you acheive it, I would tell you later.4. ABCDE : You’ve a question in front of you which carry 5 Questions and the funny part is if you solved it only once then you can score 5 marks easily may be in 2 minutes but there are two main problems which hardly thinks by anyone, which is Understanding and Reading speed. If you reading with speed, you hardly understand the topic and vice versa.Solution :Read a English newspaper daily. This is the panacea for you, How?, I would tell you here and all we talked about the role of Newspaper in many areas in English sections. If you read a newspaper your reading speed will grow. After reading it regularly your understanding power will grow. If you found some words new for you and if you google it then your word power also grow. In a nutshell, your overall knowledge will grow. Now the question is how someone read a newspaper who has never read it before for a competitive purpose, Don’t worry I would tell also this to you here.Whenever you reading a newspaper, first read the content of any article and then translare it in your own language as it is. For Example : If you belong to Orissa then first read it in English and then translate it in Odia, similarly, hindi, urdu or any other language you prefer. don’t think about the time, select only one article and finish it patiently by taking time. Read only one paragraph in a day but finsh it like that if someone ask anything about you from that article may be in moulded form, you can answered about it effectively, bcz if you read like that you can solve Rc, Cloze test, Filler & sentence arrangement in 100% while in the case of spot error only 60% in which you can understand the error through your understanding part.Smart study : The articles or pages you choose from a newspaper choose it by filtering other news other than Financial awareness or business part because the article or topic you are reading may be comes in your mains. If you do this whatever I would tell you here then you can first got improvement in yourself about reading things as well as word power. By this you can start to linking words in sentences which will help you in spot errors and filler sections and after linking sentences you can actually improve your sentence arrangement areas. If you can understand it whatever I say here and you used to it the I bet you, your english will be improved after giving some if your time.Tips 1. Don’t afraid of English, treat it just like anyother language.Tips 2. Attempt all questions of English in prelims as well as mains bcz here you easily score more with a good knowledge of wordpower. If you still wants to clear some queries then ask it on my fb or insta profile. I’ll promise you to answered your querry within first 24 hours, I have already solved 100+ people queries related to various competitive exams like UPSC/SSC & of courses of Bank exams as well through fb & instagram, whenever they ask.Best of luck…!!!

What is the most unethical thing you have seen at an Indian restaurant?
Waiters waiting for a tip of their preferenceThere was this hotel in Andheri East near the station in Mumbai,India. It was during an afternoon of March 2012, when I was coming out of the coaching class and heading to take my lunch from any restaurant I could find. So I headed out to this one restaurant that serves a regular thaali and south indian dishes. I was drooling over for a masala dosa so enquired of they are serving the dish for lunch. Once confirming I booked a seat in this restuarant and waited for a waiter to take the order. This one guy attends to me and he looked quite distracted with chaos around the restaurant with many coming possibly being lunch time of the day. I had to reiterate my order to him that included the dish, juice and other side items shown in the menu. He took the order, however it took me an rough 40 minutes to get my dish served on my table. This waiter went one dish at a time to serve by placing on my table and heading back to the kitchen to get another. So it takes another 7 minutes and I finally have all I needed. I was so caught up by the chaos and the delay that I took it real slow to complete my lunch. Once done, I immediately signalled for the Bill. As the bill arrives I left a change of 40 INR as a tip and paid the bill, whilst I had seen two other customers putting a couple of 10s and leaving. I thought that atleast the lunch was great and probably the waiter was having a rough time. But to my surprise, the waiter was observing at a distance and rushes to me as I stand up to leave saying “Sahab, sau rupiye toh dho, aaj bahut bheed hai, itne se kya hoga” - Sir , please tip 100 INR as its a crowded time, what will I do with this you have given ? I was like out of courtesy I paid to this much else I would be like others giving 10s and you are asking this much. He starts to act wierd and pitch in the status quo, saying that most “rich” folks should be courteous enough to pay more, as he thinks I look well off , being properly dressed with college bag. The problem he thinks I may belong to the rich families affording to go to college or pay heavy tuition fees, so he can bargain for more. Well I like to dress nicely but I am not from any rich bckground but understanding how things are for such work life as a waiter, I atleast showed some gesture this time. So we go back and forth speaking on status, philiosphy and by them I just stormed out leaving the 40 INR change. I felt it was unethical as if a customer gives you a tip, you graciously accept or decline, either in their presence or absence. I would not appreciate to argue or be adamant to demand more, provided the bill already covers your restaurants services and VAT. I felt strange, however this was just that one incident.

How did Ian Williams get out from homelessness? What is his story?
Thanks for the question! My story is long, boring, and written about many, many times on here.I became homeless as my landlord illegally evicted me from my house. I was never behind in rent, always paid on time and made any necessary repairs out of my own pocket. He turned up one weekend with a “heavy” in tow and gave me an hour to get my stuff together and leave, or I would be forcibly ejected, and he wouldn't be gentle about it. That was his way of telling me to get out or get the shit kicked out of me.I spent months on the streets. I was cold, nearly starved to death and constantly had people jeering, spitting and yelling abuse at me.I would not wish that experience on my worst enemy. However, I learned where the local housing office was and made sure I turned up every single day. I was first in line when it opened and was the last one to leave at night, every day, without fail. You didn't need to do that. All you had to do was register for council housing, or for emergency accommodation, fill in a form and wait to be contacted when you were successful.I knew the chances of me being successful were less than zero. I had absolutely no chance, but I had nothing to lose. I made sure I put my name down for every single council house and flat available. I introduced myself to private landlords and applied for every one of those too (the council had a private renting programme whereby landlords could offer their homes to council tenants for a guaranteed rent, so many private landlords let their properties this way).Sometimes landlords would be rejected. It may be because they had previously failed inspections or because their properties were just too small (there was a minimum size for council properties at the time, not sure if there still is or not). Sometimes it was just because they were outside the catchment area for that council, so couldn't be accepted even if the property was suitable.I digress. One such landlady came in and I got talking to her while she was in the waiting room. This was the first time she had offered her flats and bedsits so she did t really know what to do. By this time, I had been there so long, I was an old hand and told her what she needed to do. I couldn't help as I didn't have access to any forms or suchlike, but could tell her which forms she needed to ask for.She filled out her paperwork and after a short while had an interview with one of the housing officers. She came out and said thanks to me, but her places were too small, but she wished me luck.I told her I didn't care what size they were, as long as they had 4 walls, a roof and a lockable door, I was more than interested. We went back to the desk, filled out some housing benefit forms and she took me to what was about to become my home for the next couple of years before I moved in somewhere even better.I've never looked back since.

When I die, I do not want a viewing with an open casket, or be cremated. My wife said that she will have the casket open, and have me cremated to save money. Do my last wishes count?
Local laws differ a lot.In Texas, embalming is never required under law, but funeral homes can require it for some situations like a funeral with an open casket. That is the rule at my firm. But since you said you do not want a funeral with an open casket, that is not needed.Under Texas law, you do have first right to control the disposition of your body. You can direct this by contracting with a local funeral home before need. Pay for what you want. That funeral home cannot make major changes to that. Of course, your next of kin could ignore that funeral home and go to another, which does not know about it. That will COST them, when your way was paid for, but they could do it. But the FH can't do it differently. The next step is the chain of authority is a person you designate. Texas has a form to appoint an an agent for this. He/she will outrank any other living person. That can be challanged. And your spouse would loose, but she could make it hard for the agent. The third is next of kin.I recommend that you use a combination of the first two. Make arrangements, pay for what you want, and then appoint an agent.I would recommend VERY STRONGLY that you do not trust a will to accomplish this.It is hard for a will to do much before death certificates are available, which is often a week or two after the funeral. There is often little interest in the will until well after the funeral. It is quite likely that all you will do is create a huge “OOPS!” moment “so THAT’S what we should have done!”
