Train movements not musclesUnless you've already built up serious levels of strength or have physique specific training goals, doing tons of isolation work is a poor use of training time. Sure, isolation work is important for muscle growth, but first make sure you can squat more than 225 before you do leg extensions. Picking the right exercises is key to getting results. Use db or EZ bars which give you a natural movement. once you become stronger you can bring these exercises to your repertoire.Same thing with upright rows and behind the neck pull downs, your shoulder muscles (especially posterior deltoid and supraspinatus) are not yet accustomed in this direct work.6.) Don't waste your time on barbell shrugs : Powerlifters sport traps that would make a Silverback gorilla envious, yet the barbell shrug is not part of most powerlifting training programs. You are a beginner, select your exercise that trains the natural movement and uses multiple muscle group and joints. For beginners, Shrugs are not worth your time. Rather do Farmer’s walk, carry heavy dbs and walk.7.) Learn How To Eat Before Investing In Supplements : Supplements have their place, but not before you get your diet in order.
