Do military members have to pay any fee for leave or fiancee forms?
NOOOOOOO. You are talking to a military romance scammer. I received an email from the US Army that directly answers your question that is pasted below please keep reading.I believe you are the victim of a military Romance Scam whereas the person you are talking to is a foreign national posing as an American Soldier claiming to be stationed overseas on a peacekeeping mission. That's the key to the scam they always claim to be on a peacekeeping mission.Part of their scam is saying that they have no access to their money that their mission is highly dangerous. If your boyfriend girlfriend/future husband/wife is asking you to do the following or has exhibited this behavior, it is a most likely a scam:Moves to private messaging site immediately after meeting you on Facebook or SnapChat or Instagram or some dating or social media site. Often times they delete the site you met them on right after they asked you to move to a more private messaging siteProfesses love to you very quickly & seems to quote poems and song lyrics along with using their own sort of broken language, as they profess their love and devotion quickly. They also showed concern for your health and love for your family.Promises marriage as soon as he/she gets to state for leave that they asked you to pay for. They Requests money (wire transfers) and Amazon, iTune ,Verizon, etc gift cards, for medicine, religious practices, and leaves to come home, internet access, complete job assignments, help sick friend, get him out of trouble, or anything that sounds fishy. The military does provide all the soldier needs including food medical Care and transportation for leave. Trust me, I lived it, you are probably being scammed. I am just trying to show you examples that you are most likely being connned.Below is an email response I received after I sent an inquiry to the US government when I discovered I was scammed. I received this wonderful response back with lots of useful links on how to find and report your scammer. And how to learn more about Romance Scams.Right now you can also copy the picture he gave you and do a google image search and you will hopefully see the pictures of the real person he is impersonating. this doesn't always work and take some digging. if you find the real person you can direct message them and alert them that their image is being used for scamming.Good Luck to you and I'm sorry this may be happening to you. please continue reading the government response I received below it's very informative. You have contacted an email that is monitored by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. Unfortunately, this is a common concern. We assure you there is never any reason to send money to anyone claiming to be a Soldier online. If you have only spoken with this person online, it is likely they are not a U.S. Soldier at all. If this is a suspected imposter social media profile, we urge you to report it to that platform as soon as possible. What's something unforgettable that a roommate of yours has done?
“What’s something unforgettable that a roommate of yours has done?”I must admit in advance, this story is too good not to be told in full, so forgive me for expanding this answer beyond a single, unforgettable moment. That being said, Quora, have I got a story for you.Anyone who knows me can tell you that I’m a naturally argumentative person. It’s not that I enjoy arguing, it really just comes down to the fact that I’m prideful, stubborn, self-admitted know-it-all who really hates it when people get things wrong. I know that sounds condescending, but that’s only because it’s super condescending. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not prideful to a fault— I always admit when I’m wrong, even if it takes me a while to come to my senses. In truth, I’m actually a very open minded (if incredibly stubborn) person. No, my problem doesn’t stem from an inability to concede when I’m wrong; instead, my downfall tends to be my determined insistence to prove that I’m right when the other person refuses to listen to reason. To clarify, I mean to say that in cases where I know beyond any shred of doubt that I’m right, where the argument regards a factual, scientifically proven matter, I have an incredibly difficult time giving up. Like I said before, I always admit when I’m wrong, specifically because I value the prospect of learning something new. As such, it drives me absolutely crazy when people won’t recognize when they’re wrong. With this in mind, allow me to recount for you, dear reader, the events of September 17th, 2017.Blissfully unaware that the events of this day would irrevocably alter the fabric of our lives, my roommate and I set out to attend a baby shower for a friend of ours. Upon our arrival, we were each handed a small card and a pen. Split into two columns, one side of the card listed animal names, while the corresponding side had a blank line, on which we were instructed to write the name of the baby form of each animal listed. We thought our task to be a simple one, but we could not have been more wrong. At first, we sped through the game. A baby bear was a cub, a baby kangaroo, a joey, a baby sheep, a lamb, and so on, until we encountered the fateful question.“What’s a baby butterfly called?”I turned, grinning as I took in her pursed lips and furrowed brows.“A caterpillar,” I said. Two words, five syllables. Simple, childish words, the kind learned from the comfort of the racetrack rug on the floor of your average kindergarten classroom. Memories of The Very Hungry Caterpillar flickered through my mind’s eye, and my grin turned to a wistful smile as my heart filled with a nostalgic yearning for simpler times, times when my burning questions could be so easily answered.Alas, questions about such straightforward things like the life cycle of the butterfly were ones I had left behind long ago; surely I had more divisive questions to address these days. Until my roommate tore our worlds apart, that is.“A caterpillar?” She repeated, uncertainty coloring her tone. She paused for a moment. Holding the balance of our lives in her hands, she took a slow, careful breath, scrunching her face tighter as she considered my proposal.“No, that’s not it.”Oh, okay, I thought. No that’s fine, I get it; she’s making a joke. She’s embarrassed that she couldn’t think of the word, so she’s making a joke.Yeah, it’s a joke.As I’m sure you’ve by now surmised, it was not a joke.I pressed her, wondering what she would suggest we say otherwise. Begged her to give me an answer, to help me see sense in this otherwise arbitrary and altogether meaningless world. Her response?“I don’t know, but it isn’t a caterpillar.”Maybe I’d have let it go if she’d had an answer for me, but that was no answer— no, that was an act of outrageous insubordination against the ineffable laws of nature themselves, an act I wasn’t about to let stand. For the moment, though, I let it pass....As with all moments, though, an end is never far away. I watched her slowly forget about our dispute over the course of the next day and a half, lulling her into a false sense of security before I struck. My act was simple, as simple as the very fact I sought to impart through it: I snap-chatted her a picture of a caterpillar, captioned “Look, it’s a baby butterfly!”She didn’t like that. A stubborn person herself, she told me if I didn’t let this one go, she would never speak to me again.Needless to say, I didn’t let it go.She didn’t talk to me for three days.Day one was stone-cold silence, which was impressive enough in its own right (especially to someone like me, who, as you might have gathered by now, never knows when or how to shut up). By day two, however, we had entered a whole different ballgame. At the end of the second day of my dear roommate’s silence, I returned to our suite to find every available surface plastered with contracts, and I do mean every available surface. They dangled from my walls, they stared down at me from my ceiling. They were mixed into the pages of all of my notebooks and textbooks, slipped into the pockets of my folders, zipped into my backpack. They peeked out from under my pillow and between my sheets, they were shoved under my bed, folded in my drawers, and could even be found tucked in the pockets of some of my clothes.Crazy bitch.Only after my initial shock wore off was I able to read the terms printed onto each vile document, terms that only managed to increase my resolve. In signing the contract she had drafted, I would declare my side of the argument wrong, thereby marking my total agreement with her side. Additionally, I would agree to buy Dominos for my roommate on a night of her choosing, to make up for the emotional turmoil this had caused her.Yeah, that obviously wasn’t going to happen, not in this life or any other.Unsatisfied with my initial attempts to design a contract similar to her’s, I decided to pursue a higher path, the path of academia. With my heart still set on helping my roommate advance her knowledge by cutting through her self-inflicted ignorance, I wrote a four page research paper on the life cycle of a butterfly. Along with this well-founded research paper, I presented my roommate with a caterpillar-themed canvas I had painted to signify the occasion.Unfortunately, she didn’t like those any more than she had liked my snapchat. Spitting in the face of both art and science, she maintained her refusal to concede. Nevertheless, she felt that I had suffered enough from her three days of silence, so we drafted and signed a contract to end the issue. By the terms of this final contract, we agreed to cease our arguing for the sake of our friendship, and to never speak of butterflies again....Well, and that would have been fine, were I not such an intransigent know-it-all. No, I just couldn’t accept that she wouldn’t admit that she was wrong. I tried, really, but after I pointed out a butterfly as we walked across campus one day (a truly innocent act, I just thought it was pretty enough to comment on) I saw how quickly she became outraged by my ‘contract violation,’ and I knew I couldn’t let this one go.So…I went as a butterfly for Halloween after spending the entire month of October talking to her about how excited I was for her to see my secret costume.A few weeks later, I bought a butterfly chair for our dorm room.In November, I bought a shirt with our sorority letters on them, which were of course butterfly themed. Adding to that, I bought the butterfly letters at a silent auction in a set of two shirts, so naturally I hid the butterfly shirt underneath the other, innocent shirt, and coerced her into helping me make sure no one bid higher than I did. Ah, friendship.Come December, I brought a ten-foot stuffed animal caterpillar into our room and hid it under her blankets. His name is Roland. She claimed she hated him for at least a month or two, and likely would have continued to maintain that lie had I not walked in on her using him as a pillow. After four or so months of peace, I celebrated the month of April by pulling out my research paper to show a friend of ours. She ripped it in half, but I kept the pieces for reference.During the summer of 2018, I was a Girl Scout camp counselor. If you weren’t aware, Girl Scout camp counselors choose special ‘camp names’ to use during the summer, so obviously I chose Caterpillar. It came in handy, actually, because I always had a story in my back pocket for when I had half an hour I needed to kill. Most recently, I bought her a tiny, four foot version of Roland that I stumbled upon at Market Basket. I presented him to her for Christmas; she named him Roly....Well, friends, here we are. If you made it this far, kudos to you, this turned out to be quite a long answer.Still, I think it fits the question at hand: after all, this argument started on September 17th, 2017, and it’s January 4th, 2019. By now, I think I can safely say that what my roommate did was pretty unforgettable— at least, it’s certainly something I’ll never let her forget!

How will girls and boys camp together in Scouts BSA?
They won’t.Scouts BSA troops are separated by gender. All-boy troops or all-girl troops.Troops operate as single, separate, autonomous units. Even in a larger event involving multiple troops (and those are generally few and far between), each troop has its own separate camp.So at most, you will have boys and girls in separate, adjacent campsites. This is quite a bit different than how the Venturing BSA program operates. That program is co-ed, for 14–20 year olds, and has operated successfully for the last twenty years. In Venturing, if the unit has both boys and girls in attendance, both male and female adult leaders are required to be in attendance as well, and while the Crew shares an overall campsite, the boys set up their tents on one side of the camp, and the girls on the other…typically with the adult leaders in between. Even among the adult leaders, only married couples are allowed to share a tent…otherwise, adult men and adult women must keep to their own separate tents as well.Youth Protection and Adult Leadership | Boy Scouts of America

How can I fill out Google's intern host matching form to optimize my chances of receiving a match?
I was selected for a summer internship 2016.I tried to be very open while filling the preference form: I choose many products as my favorite products and I said I'm open about the team I want to join.I even was very open in the location and start date to get host matching interviews (I negotiated the start date in the interview until both me and my host were happy.) You could ask your recruiter to review your form (there are very cool and could help you a lot since they have a bigger experience).Do a search on the potential team. Before the interviews, try to find smart question that you are going to ask for the potential host (do a search on the team to find nice and deep questions to impress your host). Prepare well your resume. You are very likely not going to get algorithm/data structure questions like in the first round. It's going to be just some friendly chat if you are lucky. If your potential team is working on something like machine learning, expect that they are going to ask you questions about machine learning, courses related to machine learning you have and relevant experience (projects, internship). Of course you have to study that before the interview. Take as long time as you need if you feel rusty. It takes some time to get ready for the host matching (it's less than the technical interview) but it's worth it of course.

Is it going too far to ask a potential girlfriend to fill out a potential partner evaluation form?
You have, of course, offered her your version of the same form (or equivalent), filled out with all your answers, right?I just applied for a job I may decide I don’t want because their application process is so 1999. Allow that your prospective partners will be evaluating your date selection process while they fill out the form. It is possible that some women will relish a more straightforward, apparently data-driven approach and find it more comfortable to write answers than to talk. This might actually be the best way to weed out incompatible partners, for you.You will have to accept that this WILL weed out incompatible partners, of course. As long as you can live with that fall out, I’m all for reducing the field of candidates to manageable numbers as fast as possible. You might want to have the form reviewed by someone you trust who can help you evaluate how you have worded the various questions and make sure that the data you are seeking is actually relevant to your criteria.(And you do have criteria, of course.)
