The Information in This Preliminary Pricing Supplement is Not

Here is how I think about it.I have beliefs based on propositions.  Let me give you an example: the "Earth revolves around the sun" is a proposition.   There is a lot of evidence supporting this proposition and I believe it is true.  Notice I did not say "I believe in the Earth revolving around the sun".   This kind of belief is subject to an epistemology.  That is to say that there is a set of rules that defines truth.  I prefer to use scientific evidence when available.  Scientific evidence imposes additional epistemology or rules of truth to my belief that the proposition "the Earth revolves around the sun".  This is a very strong kind of knowing.  Lawyers have also another kind of epistemology about beliefs that involves how to determine who knew what and when.There is a second kind of belief that we often call knowing right from wrong.  This kind of belief has to do with an unseen and unspoken thinking about social activities.  Knowing right from wrong is a very primitive kind of belief.  It would be nice to ask an anthropologist about this, actually I believe I will right here on Quora.  There is a way to know if this kind of belief is true because the society tells you if you are wrong; maybe they even put you in jail.Now, there is a third important kind of belief that seems to be closely related to the second above.   This kind of belief does not have a proposition.  Some examples, "I believe in America", "I believe in freedom", "I believe in God", etc.   Some people call this kind of belief a faith.  There is no epistemology for non-propositional beliefs, they are a kind of intuition, faith.  These seem to me to be a very primitive kind of belief system that has become obsolete and in the language of a programmer, "should be deprecated".  Non-propositional beliefs are problematic because of their arbitrary nature.  We get into trouble with these beliefs when people try to make a proposition about their faith without offering evidence of its truth because there isn't any; it's a faith.  This invariably creates a conflict with other propositions that may have strong evidence of truth.  Again, propositional beliefs require evidence to have truth.  Providing scientific evidence for a proposition actually makes a proposition easier to disprove.  I know that sounds strange, but that's the idea.  Something with scientific evidence that stands up to scrutiny is a very strong kind of belief.   Scientific evidence must be repeatable.  That is there must be a way of recreating the evidence or allowing other persons to see it.  A proposition with no evidence is very hard to disprove because disproving it involves proving a negative, which is always difficult at best and quite often impossible.

Could be many reasons.Most common is that you are a new patient and after all that paperwork filling out you want to see the doctor as soon as possible. After all you came to see the doc, not fill out paperwork, right?So after you fill out the paperwork your answers are still in the papers and not in your electronic health record (EHR). Most of the answers aren’t even for the doctor: they are for insurance, billing and legal purposes. All that information will have to be scanned or entered by the nurse or medical tech, but he’s already on to another patient. He’ll have to do it later.The doc has just seen another patient. She’s only had time to fill out a skeletal note in the EHR for that patient that she will have to finish after she’s done seeing patients and before she goes home. If she doesn’t complete that not in 48 hours she could face fines and in some cases, dismissal depending on state or health system.Now she picks up your folder. There is a sheaf of forms and a blank health record with likely only your name and insurance number in it. Would you rather she spent 15 minutes reviewing what you wrote or actually meeting with you and asking some of those same questions?Most patients will likely choose the latter. Again, you’re there to see the doctor, not to fill out forms.And guess what? It’s only going to get worse as health care becomes more bureaucratic.

There is an undocumented key that can be used with the standard defaults to retrieve the phone number of the device. Answering: To reduce the amount of information they have to process, our brains "filter out" familiar things. How do we make sure that this is not limiting our perception?What you call filtering out is really a process of prediction. When things are familiar, we have high level memories of them that are turned into sensations in the sensory cortex through a series of elaborations. For instance, visual memories are impressed on V3 cortex, which produces predictions of what will be experienced in V2 cortex. The experience in V2 cortex produces a prediction in V1 cortex of the retinal impressions that should be delivered there by the retinal tract.If the predictions proceeding down from V3->V2->V1 match the retinal imagery arriving from the eye, we seem to be blind to what is impinging on the retina. That has been shown in several psychology experiments. The brain responds to the blindness by doing something (usually moving the eyes or head) to change the view enough to eliminate the apparent blindness. The eye will excitedly search for a view in which it can’t predict what is falling on the retina.In practice the match is seldom exact, so V1 cortex sends an error signal associated with the visual region in error, along with a processed image, to V2. V2 compares that new edition of the processed image to the prediction (at another level) coming down from V3 cortex. At the V2 level again, an error signal may be sent to V3 along with processed visual information for V3 to use in further processing the signal.What is meant by “blindness” in a previous paragraph is really the lack of error signals being propagated up because the downward predictions are so good. Any small section of V1 can generate an error signal to the corresponding section of V2, and any small section of V2 can send an error signal to the corresponding section of V3, so prediction and correction are localized, keeping us from needing to process all the information all of the time.In practice this contention between prediction and retinal sensation puts a very tight grip on what we are seeing. This makes it hard for sensations to get lost. There is no filter in this process, but there are opportunities for information to be lost. Most of them have to do with lack of training and sophistication in the visual cortex, but this gets better with experience.The more common source of limits to our perception relates to attention, as manifested in pointing the eyes with saccades and movements of the head. We can only see detailed imagery in an area the size of the thumbnail held out at arm length. If you hold out your thumb, you will notice that most of what appears to be in your vision is outside that small area. Of course, we move our eyes around to give us the impression we can see all the world in front of us, but we only see the small bits of the world traced by the narrow path of our gaze as it whips around the surrounding expanse.If we don’t happen to direct our narrow gaze at something in the environment, it literally isn’t there to us. No amount of redundant prediction and sensation will bring it into view. So, much of what is in the world around us escapes our view.

Think of the W-9 as a vehicle between a pay provider or a vendor and an independent contractor. When a W-9 is involved, we typically do not use the terms "employer" or "employee". Rather we use the terms vendor and independent contractor. If you have filled out a W-9, then the person paying for labor sees the worker as an independent contractor, not an employee. In this case you get a 1099-MISC and not a Form W-2 at the end of the year. (People and companies that pay for labor often prefer to pay workers as independent contractors, instead of as employees, because the payor does not have to pay employment taxes or provide other benefits.) If you fail to fill out and provide a completed W-9 when one is requested of you, then the person paying for labor is required to hold back part of the pay to the independent contractor (mandatory back up withholding). However, if you have provided a signed W-9 back to the person paying you, then you are correct, the payor should not be withholding anything (unless you have more than one single status as a worker for this company?) If you have filled out and returned only a W-9 to the person who pays you, and know for sure you have not also filled out a W-4 (to be treated as an employee and later receive a W-2), and you can also produce paycheck stubs that show withholding for Social Security and Medicare, state taxes (FICA, MED, etc.), then you should raise this issue with your tax preparer and ask if you should consider filing a Form SS-8 when you complete your tax return. Better yet, print out and bring a Form SS-8 into work now, and ask to speak with someone in human resources, personnel, or the accounting office at the company about that Form SS-8. An SS-8 form should sufficiently scare the bejesus out of the company. If some foul play is at work here, the concern over a Form SS-8 will make people sit up and pay attention. If it is something else (like some of your work is as an employee and other more independent projects are paid out to contractors instead of employees,) then an SS-8 will still be effective... the person paying for labor will go out of their way to then be as clear as possible in explaining their actions. Two final thoughts: 1) Remember, it does not matter what they are doing or not doing, or whether it is legal or questionable. It only matters what you can demonstrate or prove. If you don't get real, live paychecks or at least a stub or advice of deposit that shows withholding, then it will be difficult for you to demonstrate what has or is happening. 2) Sit with a professional tax preparer this coming tax season - and just pay for the service. If you've never seen or filled out a Form SS-8 before, now is not the time to venture it on your own. I can probably figure out how to change the oil in my car by myself. I go to a mechanic for an oil change for a reason.

And since they feel like they have no other options, they keep letting abusive people get away with their abusive behaviour.So, let them come to these pages, it won’t help them.And many of those pages won’t help their victims either unless the victim learns how to take responsibility over their own life and figure out how to expand their own options - so they are not stuck with a narcissistic partner or an abusive boss.Yes, a narcissistic partner or an abusive boss will know to discourage you from seeking help or engaging in self-help, saying things like “this is for dumb people”, or “other people will treat you even worse” and whatnot - but they do not learn these “tricks” from those sites. They learn these tricks when they intuitively apply them on their partners or employees - and they keep using it because for some reason it keeps working out for them.Reason being that their victims are their victims because they are desparate people and believe better options do not exist for them.A difficult thing, indeed.

Then there is no source site information to pass.Forwarded to site: They can only see this if it’s by clicking a link on the page. don’t click the links.Other sites you may have visited. Normally done with a cross-site advertising tracking cookie. Open the site in a Private / Incognito / Porn mode session to block them all. Close it as soon as you have finished.To be honest, they will get far, far more information from the form you complete than anything else.
