What is the POI of an M1 rifle at 25 yards for a 100 yard zero?
Pretty much on center.Because the M1 Garand rifle uses iron sights mounted relatively close to the barrel (at least compared to an M16 or a hunting rifle’s scope), it doesn’t take much down-angle (aka elevation) for the sight to be looking at the peak of the bullet’s ballistic path. At about a 50-yard sight-in range, you are basically sighting in this rifle at or near the peak of the bullet’s trajectory, and at almost any other range the bullet will be lower than that. That means that to get the POA and POI matched up out at a hundred yards, the sights have to look further “downward” along the bullet’s arced path than they would at 50 yards. When you bring the sights back up to your intended target, that now means the bullet leaves the barrel with that much more of an upward trajectory, and it also means that the bullet’s path crosses the line of sight more than once:For the M1 Garand and its mil-spec (at the time) .30–06 Springfield cartridge, the sights are designed so that with a “first zero” range of 25 yards, the “second zero” is at 100 yards, and vice-versa. These are very convenient distances for sighting in, and that’s not an accident; 25 yards has long been a standard maximum for pistol ranges, while 100 yards has been a rifle range standard for almost as long, so designing a rifle’s layout so it can be sighted in at whichever of these is available is a very clever way to increase the utility and field-service capabilities of the M1.It also means that pretty much any target out to 100 yards is “point-blank range”; aim where you want to hit, and you’ll be close enough. You’ll actually hit an inch or maybe two higher if the target is between 25 and 100 yards, and inside 25 yards you’ll aim up to an inch low, but that’s not enough to matter unless you’re doing competition target shooting (and in that case you will be sighted in at exactly the target distance).

What would my second zero be if my red dot sight is sighted in at 25 yards and I'm using the Axeon Second Zero product designed to convert a 100 yard zero to a 330 yard zero? How can I calculate this?
What BC projectile moving at what velocity? What differential between bore height and sight? Too many variables to give an answer. there are a number of online ballistic calculators that would do this for you if you fill in the blanks.

Is it true that if my rifle is zeroed for, let's say, 100 yards and I'm shooting a target at 50 yards, I'm supposed to aim below where I'm trying to hit?
Your bullet travels in an arc. Your line of sight is straight. Your bullet will cross Your line of sight twice. Once when it is going up and again when it is acted upon by gravity to bring it back down. Because Your scope is higher than the bore of the rifle You may have to sight Your bullet in below the time it first crosses Your line of sight. It really depends on how far Your scope is above the bore. How far You are sighting in for and how fast the bullet is traveling. Here’s something that will bake Your noodle. If You fired a bullet exactly parallel to the ground and dropped a bullet identicle to the one You are shooting, exactly at the same time they would both hit the ground at the same time. Bullets don’t have wings. They don’t climb. Gravity works the same on both of them. The only reason we think they climb is because we sight them in to go up and farther down range they start coming back down. Their speed does not hold them up. Yes it is possible to have to sight in below Your line of sight but that is because whatever range You have chosen to zero Your bullet may be below Your line of sight. I hope You get what You need from this answer. It can become very confusing.

If I'm shooting slugs out of my Remington 870 12g at a stationary deer 25/50 yards out how much should I have to compensate in order to hit on target?
Tom Doan is precisely on the money. For all practical purposes, the slug will hit exactly where the gun is pointed at such a short range. But you need to remember that at ranges past seventy five yards, slugs drop off pretty fast, and I recommend against long range shots (any shot at ranges over about eighty yards or so) with slugs unless you are a skilled shotgunner and well acquainted with your shotgun and ammo. There can be a substantial difference in the accuracy and bullet drop at longer ranges using different guns and different brands of slugs. They are not all exactly alike, even if they are the same brand. Experiment with two supposedly identical shotguns using the same slugs and at eighty yards one might put five slugs in a four inch circle (excellent ) whereas the other puts them in an eight inch circle( so so ). Part of this variation is in the gun itself, part of it is due to the aim of the shooter. A good rifle in the hands of a skilled shooter will put five bullets consistently into a one inch circle at eighty yards, but rifles shoot straighter by far and have precision sights, which are generally lacking on shotguns. You can buy a barrel for your gun that is specifically designed for shooting slugs and hunting deer or other large game. Such a barrel will generally improve accuracy noticeably, but the slug still drops at the same rate down range. Some twelve gauge shot guns use two and three quarter inch shells, some use three inch, and some use three and a half inch inch shells. The twelve gauge made for three and a half inch and loaded with the same is right on up there in elephant rifle territory. The recoil is brutal, to say the least.

How will it be if every student in an exam is awarded some minimum marks like some 20 out of 100 instead of zero? Will it be encouraging for them to perform well next time?
