what good afternoon everyone and welcome to our presentation on how we process email we received from the governor's office my name is Mike Strom and I'm the state archivist Susan gray pH and Roger Chrisman are our experts on this project and they'll tell you in a minute about the work they do to begin though I wanted to explain what we mean by processing it's an archival term and we use it to describe the steps we take to inventory the email we receive from the governor's office and to make the email available on the internet as you're about to see it's a complicated time-consuming series of events the project began in 2011 and we have processed almost a million emails which accounts for 62% of the email in the Kaine administration we're proud of that work but we realize that we have to increase the pace as the remaining email from the Kaine administration and the what we have received from the McDonald and McAuliffe administration's total approximately 17 million even Susan Gray and
