hello I'm Kirk handsome I'm executive director of the marcola center for applied ethics at Santa Clara University we are very privileged to have with us today Chief Justice Myron steel of the Delaware State Courts Chief Justice steel has been chief justice since 2004 and has served on the Supreme Court since the year 2000 prior to his service on the Supreme Court he served on the chancery court and in a number of other levels of the state courts in the state of Delaware chief justice steel were delighted to have you with us a privilege to be here I'd like to focus in this short video on what the special role is of the Delaware courts in corporate law and governance in the United States how would you characterize the special role that both the Chancery Court and the Supreme Court which you had plays in in corporate law in the US well we were very fortunate historically in that in 1910 when Woodrow Wilson became governor of New Jersey he enacted through his legislature a series of statut
