hi today i'm going to explain to you how to cite things in mla format and that sounds very complicated but i promise it's not as complicated as it sounds um to cite things simply means just to show a convenient place to put all like where your information is from so your teachers don't have to click on urls they don't have to pull out a book they can see where your information is from who published it and when it was published and it's super easy so our first one is how to cite a book any book in print from the library or from the classroom or anywhere but the author's last name and first name the title of the book and when it's underlined on this board you can underline it if you're handwriting but if you're typing you can put it in italics and then your city of publication the publishing company which is usually on the first page of the book and the year it was published and then you write the word print to show that it was a print book and here's an example for you so copy this down
