C18 columns are HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) columns that use a C18 substance as the stationary phase. ... C18 simply means that the molecules contain 18 carbon atoms, so the other atoms in the molecule can vary, leading to signally different substances.

C18 is having 18 carbon atoms while C8 has 8 carbons in the column packing that are bonded to the silica (Si). From what I have seen practically, generally, C18 retains more than C8 such that for a similar compound eluted on the two columns, it will elute later on the C18.

C18 forms are issued by Customs to collect underpaid customs duties and import VAT, usually as a result of their findings during an audit.
