Dates, in particular. Especially in January, when people need to enter the current date they put January of last year. I understand your concerns. I have sometimes felt similarly. People in the US have been raised in a system where the name of your school matters a lot. And, obviously, schools at the top of those ranks are interested in making a case of why that is true. Because of this, the reality is that the name of your school will matter more than it should in the initial phases of your career. For example, if you are going to apply to any academic position, you better have a PhD from an "elite" university. Those that don't basically get cut in the first step without even getting their resume read (this usually makes sense when, for any given academic position in a "decent" university you can get over a thousand applicants). Also, if you are applying for a job position or internship and you have no previous experience, your academic background will take over. You can get cut from many positions.That said, long term, your academic credentials are going to make very little difference. Maybe they will give you 10% more chances to access a position, but there will be many other things in your resume that will matter much more.To prove this, here is a list of a few "important" people who did not attend "elite" universities (I am focusing on tech since that is what I know the most):Brian Krzanich (Intel CEO) - San Jose State UniversityLarry Ellison (Oracle CEO) - dropped out both from UIUC and University of Chicago Travis Kalanick (Uber CEO) - dropped out from UCLATim Cook (Apple CEO) - Auburn and DukeSatya Nadella (Microsoft CEO) - graduated in India, Master in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, MBA University of Chicago (although you could argue this latter one is elite in business)Ginni Rometty (IBM CEO) - Northwestern UniversityOf course these are selected examples, and you can find many examples of the opposite such as Google's founders being from Stanford and Microsoft's or Facebook's from Harvard (the latter a dropout also though). Besides, most of the universities listed above are really good (some would even call them "elite" as they would call your own University of Massachusetts). In any case, my point is that you will find many, many successful people that have either drop out or not attended an elite university, for some definition of elite. I consider myself one of those. I definitely did not study my undergrad or PhD in an "elite" university, and I do consider myself somewhat successful. So, what do people like me do to improve the chances of becoming successful long term? Easy: focus on all the many other things that can make you successful. Some ideas:Personal projectsPublicationsOpen source projectsCommunication skillsTechnical skillsExperience in general...If you optimize in all those dimensions, trust me, you won't miss the 10% that an "elite" university degree could give you in life.As a last side note, given my later experience in life I am not sure I would go back and change my time at my university (especially undergrad) for being in an elite one. Sure, I would have met many interesting people and probably have overall better teaching. But, I would have missed many other things such as teaching in several schools, playing in a rock band, working, or being involved in many other extra-curricular activities. I am convinced all of those contributed in some way to my skills. So, start making the best out of life outside academia right now.Hopefully, I have given you many reasons to overcome your feelings on this issue. As I said, you will have plenty of time in your life to make what you want of it.

I live in Germany. I got an invite to the Quora partner program the day I landed in USA for a business trip. So from what I understand, irrespective of the number of views on your answers, there is some additional eligibility criteria for you to even get an email invite.If you read the terms of service, point 1 states:Eligibility. I want to believe that most banks nowadays have made the process of opening bank account, which used to be cumbersome, less cumbersome. All you need to do is to approach the bank, collect the form, and fill. However if you have any difficulty in filling it, you can always call on one of the banks rep to help you out.
