Without doubt, start programming. Programming is a craft rather than a science - a small amount of theoretical underpinning, and a heck of a lot of experience, things that work, knowledge gained in the hard way by making mistakes and learning from them. The sooner you start making mistakes, the sooner you will start learning.

Go to https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/...  You will file a form 1040ES each quarter.  The website will tell you the due dates for each quarterly payment.  Get a similar form from your state tax board website if you pay state taxes.Note: If this is your first year filing, ever, then you can get away without sending in estimated payments because you owe the LESSER of what you owe this year or last year.  Having been self-employed most of my life, I always filed quarterly estimated taxes, using the amount I had owed the year before, because I had to to avoid fines, and because I didn't want to get to April of the next year and not have the money.  As for the amount you should pay to the IRS and your state, you might be able to figure this out using worksheets available on the IRS and state websites.  If you chose to deal in cash and not report it, that's your business.  Your students are not going to send you a 1099 at the end of the year.  But if you teach at an institution which pays you more than a few thousand dollars a year, they WILL file a 1099 stating how much they paid you in miscellaneous income, with the IRS and state.

Thanks for the A2A.First, I couldn’t agree with you more. The person who made iTunes the mess it is today? Steve Jobs.It started out simple enough – a place for all your digital music. The original product was called SoundJam and it was published by a company called Cassady & Greene. Apple acquired it and renamed it iTunes.The next thing that happened, of course, was the iPod. So now, iTunes did more than just manage your music it also allowed you to manage music on your iPod. I think the next thing that happened was audio books. Simple enough, audio books are just tracks with spoken words on them instead of music. Still, we need a way to manage those since they are books not music. So iTunes was modified to accommodate that. That’s cool, I’m still OK with that.Then the iPod gained more functionality. It played games. iPods starting getting full, so it was only natural that iTunes would also manage the games you could have on the device. So now iTunes managed more than audio tracks with music or books. Hey, there’s this new thing called podcasts. They’re really cool, but they are different from music or books or the little games we have. Let’s manage those as well. I’m still OK with all of that. So far so good.And then came videos (even though Jobs once famously misdirected people by saying “who would want to watch a movie on something that small” — or words to that effect). And that’s where it all went south. Once videos were managed by iTunes, it was apparent that iTunes could really manage any media at all. So when the iPhone came about we started managing the data that went on it, including files that could be shared onto the device. It is a slippery slope from here, because once the App store came out, it was all over for iTunes.At this point, any new thing was just thrown into iTunes. Remember Apple’s failed attempt to create its own social network? Ping! Let’s throw that into iTunes. Oh, that didn’t work — so let’s try Genius mixes. But now we have Apple Music (which really needs to be its own app), so let’s get rid of Genius Mixes and we’ll have people curate music for you — but we’ll have all these choices, which will be just like radio, but it’s not — and we shouldn’t confuse it with Internet Radio, which you can still do, but can’t find unless you look really hard for it so people choose Apple Music instead. (Run on sentence intentional.)So that’s how iTunes became the Hot Mess that it is. And here is what it should be:Music, audiobooks, podcasts, and maybe video content (although I’d really prefer to see that yanked out as well). Everything else — Radio, Apple Music, Games, the App Store, etc. should be separate apps.The reason iTunes is the hot mess it is today is because Steve Jobs did nothing to stop it, and now people at Apple just try to keep slapping stuff onto it like putting arms on the Venus di Milo.

If you want to start an investment fund, you don’t need to be on Wall Street. You need people who want to entrust their money to you. If you have some people (or even a person) who will entrust you with enough capital to earn a high enough fee to make it worth your while, you can start an investment fund.“Wall Street” is literally the name of a street in New York City, but it is usually used as an abbreviation for the finance industry in the United States (very little of which is actually on that street).

You have to see a majority of the film through the mind's eye (in your head) at first.  The broad strokes.  Not every single detail by any means, but the broad strokes. When I have a concept floating in my head, it usually starts with a seed, which in most cases is some visual.  It might be a character standing in the rain, a chase sequence, anything.  Then I let that play over and over in my head.  My instincts will tell me what type of tone or atmosphere the story should be set within, so I might start watching similar types of movies, just to give it some context... something that I can lay my concept within.  A look.  A genre.  A setting.  Etc.  Food for the brain.  Then I'll let my mind wonder.  I may play soundtracks to pre-existing films that share the same tone or atmosphere or overall feel.  I day dream it when I'm driving (in a safe way), when I'm in between places, when I'm watching movies or TV, when I'm going to bed, etc.  It will start to come together.  You're watering that initial seed.  Then I'll see the trailer of it within my mind's eye.  You know, those terrible trailer that give away the big plot points and the ending.  I'll craft trailer moments in my head, just to get a feel for the overall structure of the story, the good guys, the bad guys, the conflict, the sequences, etc.  It sounds like you may be at this point already.  If not, try the above.  If so, here's a great way to slow things down and start creating a structure for your story.  Open a Word document, or whatever Mac equivalent if you don't have a PC or laptop.  Start a bullet point.  Now, within your mind's eye (in your head), act as if you're pushing "PLAY" to your movie.  With one or two sentences (Or better yet, a fragment) for that first bullet point, write down what the first scene in your movie is.   Then build on it.  With each bullet point, you have a new scene.  Build, build, build.  Example:  A HITCHHIKER STANDS IN THE POURING RAIN ON THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. A FAMILY DRIVES THROUGH THE RAIN IN THEIR MINIVAN.THEY APPROACH THE HITCHHIKER.  THE DAD SEES HIM AND SLOWS DOWN.  WIFE SAYS NO, WORRIED. HE SPEEDS UP. PASSES HIM.LATER.  THEY KEEP DRIVING.  KIDS ASLEEP.  MOM TOO.  DAD LOOKS FORWARD AND SEES HITCHHIKER AGAIN.  PASSES HIM.      And you just keep going.  Bullet point those scenes/moments.  This will slow things down for you while also giving you the rush of actually seeing your movie unfold.  Keep coming back to this, what we'll call, outline.  Keep building and building on it.  From beginning to end.  You don't need all of the details, plot points, etc.  Just the broad strokes.  The details will come when you sit down to write the actual script.  This process will help you.  You're not writing the script itself yet, so you won't feel that you're trying to capture lightning with each scene.  You're organizing your thoughts, ideas, and all of the great s*** in your head.  You're making sense of things.  You're preparing yourself without being overwhelmed.  And you're feeding the brain.  You're watering that seed and watching it grow.  Then when you feel that you're ready to start writing the actual script, all you need to do is go to the outline and add onto what you've already written within the outline.  Scene by scene.  Then you'll discover some great moments that weren't in the outline, as you write.  Have fun with it.
