my name is chris sweeney i'm a lead surveyor with cga while each day is unique i wanted to show you an idea of what it is like to be a land surveyor for our company this was filmed during mild weather but i personally think one of the best benefits of working for cga is that we work year-round and aren't laid off during winter months can it get hot or cold absolutely are there days i don't want to go outside sure but i'm thankful for the job security and most days i feel fortunate to get to be outdoors a typical day starts out by me reviewing the project with the pos or the project manager and then getting into my survey truck and heading out to the project site since cga has multiple locations one day i could be breaking down lots and blocks in a city like cedar falls i could be surveying a section in the county and another day i could be doing a topo in a small town elevator some days i'm on my own some days i'm with another crew member that's another benefit of cga if you want to wo
