okay my name is Paul Gorman I'm the president and CEO of the social YMCA here to give you a little bit of an overview of the South Shore Y and the importance that Kim's Burgess and Hayward play within our whole association of both Quincy our Hale family branch and and Hanover our Emerson family Branch both have day camps Associated there as well today we're really here to talk about Camp Burgess and Hayward Burgess was developed by the south show Y in around 1920. Haywood was developed by the South Shore y around 1960. uh currently we probably served just about 700 children a day and we have about almost 300 staff uh there throughout the summer we always look at all of our programs our core programs which camping is a core program over our YMCA as being impactful relevant and sustainable it is our most impactful program because we have your children 24 7 24 6 sometimes eight weeks it's relevant because of the not only of the amount of children that we serve throughout the whole summer
