Start preparing for Basic method. It goes something like this:45-50 questions on ASNT Codes: a total of about 30 pages. Understand it thoroughly. You can score 100% here.45–50 question on material science: there is one book published by ASNT. Take it as a reference for the topics you need to cover. This is the hard part of the exam but having knwldge of certain mechanical processes will help you clear this.. you can expect approx 10 questions which will be out of your domain. Forget about them and prepare for 35–40 questions.35-40 question on all NDT methods: level II knwldge of RT,UT,MT,PT,UT,VT will get you about 25 questions right. Spend some time on ET, LT and AE you are good for 30 questions.So now you have approx 110 questions right and that is just above the passing grade for ASNT exam.

I could not find exact requirements from ASNT form, but there qualification standards requires previous certificates to be suspended if there is no employment for last 6 month's. I guess same requirement will be applicable here. For exact requirement send an email to certifications@asnt.org

I think for a start you have to look at where the conflicts are currently going on, and secondly, where could they spread to in a worst-case scenario. China vs JapanThere has been simmering tension there over the Senkakus, but one wonders if this is really headed towards conflict or just beating the nationalistic drum. Neither of these two sides wants to be seen as showing any form of weakness towards the other, so the way you diffuse tensions is just let things die down, and dont give them the opportunity to start back up again. Setting up things like ADIZ's looks good on paper, but everyone needs to play ball to make it work - if China slipped up and took down a commercial plane because it went through unannounced (worst case) then China will at best caused mayhem with the international system, at worst, triggered war. North Korea vs SomeoneAs a primary trigger point for war I dont see how they could start anything, but, if battle was to break out anywhere in the vicinity with an enemy of NK, I think they'd be quick to throw petrol onto the conflict. An army marches on its stomach and while they could put up a massive initial attack, that would be all it was - they cannot sustain any major operation for any length of time, their supply lines would be cut instantly as soon as they went across the border. I used to live in Donetsk and still have friends there I keep in touch with - they are over it, they say they are always the meat in the sandwich between Russia and Europe and many Ukranians just want to be left alone. They are however ethnically Russian, and a large proportion of the population is ethnically Russian there. If Russia can take these areas without bloodshed, then they will keep them, but this is where it comes to the crunch - no one knows what Russia will do, or how Nato will respond.
