hi some people ask me what a favorite story I have about lent and I tell them the story about the doilies um I love that story in particular because it points out a tremendous example when I was a young boy my mother would prepare for a guest coming into the house by assigning us task now of course my sister had to wash the floor take care of the the floorboards um take out the rugs uh and I was given the singular task of dusting uh well as a boy I would dust around the outside of the the table and then would hear the call of the neighborhood friends saying it's time for baseball so down with the rag and out with the the the ball in the bat Upon returning my mother would say did you do the tasks I asked you and I said yes Mom I did I went R she said you did and she took the lamp she took the various articles and there was left the the doily and as she removed the doily almost like a magician there the imprint of dust was on the table she said you didn't do what you were supposed to do
