okay um so i don't do very much by way of ontology mapping and the synergy with other ontologies for pro is most typically expressed in terms of reuse however we do have quite a bit of interplay with various protein databases and this has led to us having an interest in ontology mapping at least on a small scale so it's more as a consumer of such mappings that i that i give this to talk so i'd like to start by providing a bit of background on pro in in the first slide touching upon a bit of the reasoning behind why it was created here you see a number of different protein entities related to smart ii pictorial pictorially represented in the first column the second column gives quick description while the third indicates a few select go terms that can apply to each you'll note that the annotations in that go column aren't uniform among these entities implying that it would be useful to have targets of annotation more specific than what was classically done years ago in in the gene ontol
