What the Acting Crash Policies Template Is

The Acting Crash Policies Template is a standardized document designed for production companies and safety officers to record procedures, responsibilities, and approvals for staged crash events involving performers, vehicles, props, or pyrotechnics. It consolidates safety protocols, medical response plans, required permits, insurance acknowledgements, and signer attestations into a single, reusable template that can be tailored to a specific shoot, location, or jurisdiction.

Why a Formal Acting Crash Policy Matters

A clear, signed policy reduces ambiguity about roles, limits liability by documenting risk mitigation measures, and ensures consistent safety checks before any staged crash. It also creates a record suitable for insurers, medical providers, and regulators.

Why a Formal Acting Crash Policy Matters

Who Typically Completes This Template

Production safety supervisors or line producers normally prepare and circulate the template for review and signature.

  • Safety Coordinator — Prepares hazard analysis, confirms stunt team qualifications, and logs safety briefings.
  • Stunt Performer or Actor — Confirms fitness, training, and acceptance of documented protections and mitigations.
  • Insurance Representative — Verifies coverage limits, special endorsements, and any required certificates of insurance.

Signatures from authorized parties create an auditable record that supports operational compliance and claim defense.
