What the Broker Client Information Form Is and when it’s used

A Broker Client Information Form is a standardized document used by brokers to collect key client data required for onboarding, regulatory compliance, and transaction execution. Typical uses include capturing client legal name and contact details, tax identification numbers, entity type, billing and payment instructions, and preferences for communication and document delivery. The form helps firms establish identity, determine suitability for services, and create accurate records for recordkeeping, anti-money‑laundering (AML) checks, and tax reporting. Accurate completion reduces downstream delays, supports audits, and provides a single source of client truth for the broker-dealer or intermediary.

Why the form matters for compliance and efficient client onboarding

The Broker Client Information Form centralizes data required for regulatory obligations, tax reporting, and client communications. It reduces manual entry, supports required identity-verification workflows, and provides a documented audit trail that firms need for internal controls and external examinations.
