Legal Dispute: Poor records increase litigation risk

Common mistakes to avoid when preparing the form

  • Recording aggregate square footage without specifying which areas were insulated causes verification delays and may require re-inspection.
  • Listing generic material descriptions (e.g., 'insulation') instead of manufacturer and product undermines rebate and warranty eligibility.
  • Missing installation dates or using inconsistent date formats leads to rejection by program administrators or auditors.
  • Failing to attach invoices or photos often prompts manual follow-up and lengthens processing by days or weeks.

Typical timing considerations and submission windows

Deadlines vary by program, permit, and warranty; confirm specific submission windows before installation to avoid missed benefits.

Installation Date:

Document on MM/DD/YYYY; marks the start of warranty and eligibility windows
