What Business Active Files Are and when they matter

Business Active Files are organized collections of operational documents used to manage ongoing commercial activities, such as contracts, vendor agreements, customer onboarding records, and compliance attestations. They centralize current, actionable records that require routine review, signature capture, or renewal during the life of a transaction or business relationship. Properly prepared Business Active Files reduce processing delays, make audit responses simpler, and provide a single source of truth for signatory history, version control, and required supporting documents.

Why maintaining clear Business Active Files matters

Clear, consistent Business Active Files make approvals faster, reduce legal and financial risk, and improve traceability for audits and regulatory reviews. They create predictable lifecycle steps for execution, storage, and eventual disposition.
