What a Business Amended Quote Is and When It Applies

A Business Amended Quote is a written revision to a previously issued sales quote or estimate that documents changes in scope, quantities, unit prices, delivery dates, or other commercial terms. It references the original quote, explains each modification, recalculates totals, and records the effective date of the amendment. Amended quotes create a clear audit trail for procurement, billing, and contract formation so both parties can confirm agreed changes before work begins or invoices are issued.

Why an Accurate Amended Quote Matters and Its Legal Basis

An amended quote reduces disputes, aligns expectations, and documents mutual consent to changed terms. In the United States, electronic amended quotes executed with intent and retained reliably are generally enforceable under ESIGN and UETA; state law governs intrastate transactions. Accurate amendments also support tax, audit, and customer-service records.
