What the Business ARE Template Is and when it’s used

The Business ARE Template is a standardized agreement used by companies to document authorizations, releases, or assignments between business parties. It defines the parties, scope of permission or release, effective date, consideration, and signature blocks. Organizations use it for vendor onboarding, asset transfers, subcontractor authorizations, and settlements where a clear record of consent or release of claims is required. The template can be executed on paper or electronically; when signed electronically it must meet the ESIGN Act and applicable state UETA/ESRA requirements to be enforceable.

Why a clear Business ARE Template matters

A concise, well-structured template reduces disputes, speeds approvals, and creates a durable record of intent, scope, and consideration. It centralizes required fields and reduces negotiation friction while supporting audit trails for compliance and internal controls.

Why a clear Business ARE Template matters

Who typically prepares and signs a Business ARE Template

Different teams interact with the template at distinct stages, from drafting to execution.

  • Small business owners and operators — draft, approve, and sign straightforward authorizations without legal team involvement.

  • Contract managers and procurement — use the template to onboard vendors and record scope and payment terms.
