What the Business BB Request Is and when it's used

The Business BB Request is a standardized written request businesses use to ask a counterparty, financial institution, or vendor to perform a specific corporate action or change—for example, open a business bank account, add or change authorized signers, enable ACH payments, request bulk billing terms, or initiate vendor onboarding. The form collects identifying information about the company, the requested action, supporting documentation, and authorized signatures so receiving parties can verify identity, process the request, and preserve an audit trail for compliance and recordkeeping.

Why organizations use a Business BB Request

Using a formal Business BB Request creates a clear, auditable record of a corporate instruction, reduces back-and-forth with banks or vendors, and centralizes required data and supporting documents to speed processing and reduce errors.

Why organizations use a Business BB Request

Who prepares and who receives a Business BB Request

The Business BB Request sits between operations, finance, and external service providers; several roles commonly prepare or sign it.

  • Small business owners and founders who need account changes or vendor terms handled quickly and with clear authorization.
  • Corporate finance teams and accounts payable who submit requests for ACH setup, tax forms, or vendor onboarding.
  • Bank relationship managers, treasury teams, and vendor onboarding specialists who receive and validate the request before execution.

Use the list below to identify typical internal owners and external recipients so routing and approval are set before submission.

Essential parts of a professional Business BB Request

A well-constructed Business BB Request groups identification, a precise request statement, supporting evidence, approval signatures, and submission details so recipients can verify, approve, and act without extra clarification.

Header

Company name, legal entity type, and federal EIN plus primary contact and business address to uniquely identify the requesting organization.

Request Details

Clear description of the specific action requested (for example, add signer, enable ACH, change billing terms) with effective dates and any monetary limits.

Supporting Documents

Attach articles of organization/incorporation, a current certificate of incumbency or board resolution, voided check or bank letter, and government ID as required.

Authority

State who authorized the request (officer title), cite corporate authority (resolution, bylaws), and reference any board minutes if needed for validation.

Signatures

Signature block showing printed name, title, date, and, where required, witness or notary acknowledgement to meet recipient or state rules.

Submission Info

Indicate routing (email, secure portal, or physical filing), who to contact for questions, and expected processing timeframe for tracking.

Step-by-step: completing and sending the Business BB Request

Follow a simple four-step routine to collect documents, complete the form, verify authority, and submit through the recipient’s accepted channel.

  • 01
Gather documents: Collect EIN confirmation, formation documents, and ID.
  • 02
Complete form: Fill each field exactly as required.
  • 03
Verify authority: Attach board resolution or officer authorization.
  • 04
Submit: Send via secure portal or recipient-specified method.

Where to file or send the completed request

Select the destination based on the recipient's stated preferences and the sensitivity of the information; keep an auditable copy for your records.

  • To the bank: Upload to bank portal or deliver to branch operations.
  • To vendors: Send via vendor onboarding portal or verified email.
  • Internal approvals: Route to legal or finance for sign-off before external submission.
  • Regulatory filings: If required, file through the appropriate government portal or mail to the stated agency.

Typical online workflow settings for e-submission

Configure online forms to require identity verification, attach supporting files, and set approver order to match your company's internal controls.

Field Configuration
Signer order Sequential or parallel approvers
Authentication Email link, SMS code, or stronger KBA
Attachments Require PDF or JPEG proof files
Retention Automatic archival in secure repository

Digital submission and technical requirements

  • Integrations: Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft 365
  • File formats: PDF, DOCX, XLSX
  • Authentication: Email, SMS, or KBA

Typical timelines and processing expectations

Processing times vary by recipient and request complexity; set internal deadlines and allow additional verification time for high-sensitivity changes.

Internal preparation time:

Allow 3–7 business days to gather documents and approvals.

Bank processing window:

Expect 3–10 business days once the bank validates documents.

Vendor onboarding:

Allow 5–15 business days depending on vendor checks.

Employment forms: I-9 paperwork fines $281–$2,789
