What the Business CSIO and ROI Template Is

The Business CSIO and ROI Template is a standardized worksheet used to document a proposed project or investment's Chief Security Information Officer (CSIO)-level controls, expected outcomes, and measurable return on investment. It combines risk-control descriptions, implementation milestones, cost estimates, and a concise ROI model so stakeholders can evaluate security initiatives alongside financial impact. The template is intended to support budgeting, executive review, and cross-functional approvals by presenting technical and financial inputs in a single, auditable document suitable for electronic signature and secure distribution.

Why use a structured CSIO and ROI Template

A unified template ensures consistent information capture, improves comparability across projects, and documents assumptions used in ROI calculations for auditors and decision-makers. It reduces ambiguity between security, finance, and operations when evaluating investments.
